for my non-snowed in blog loves...

no other words are needed to go with this photo
~~
well maybe
just a few
"who in california has a spare bedroom I can live in all winter"
~~
and
now I want to share with you
~if you'll let me gush a little bit~
the luck I've had lately
~
seriously
I need to buy a lottery ticket
~~
1. I won the national geographic book in this give-away
2. I won this photography journal in this give-away
and
3. I won the candle and room spray in this give-away
(but those smelly greats are still in the mail and not in this photo)
all in the last few weeks
and
the colorful handmade journal zine in the photo above
arrived
from
the warm hearted and amazingly sensitive
~thanks sweetie~
~~
oh
and
just so you know
I never ever win anything
~~
I guess I'll have to throw that line away now

  2. I really don't like winter. That photo make me sad...worst thing ? It is only December...
But you winning goodies ( I used to never win stuff until I started giving away stuff of my own in Blogland !), that makes me feel happier, just like all the good things happening inside. At least there is that to keep the heart warm...not quite tropical, but warm. We will make it through.
Love to you, Beautiful Beth !

  4. Wow, Southern WI really did get hit with a tad bit more snow than here in the North. Isn't it suppose to be the other way around?

You won a very nice gift. I'm still trying to win something from the Pioneer Woman's blog...she has wonderful giveaways!

Hey, I know how you can stay warm. Go eat one of those famous morning buns and you'll be fueled for the day!!!!

  5. Congrats on all your wins! Holy cow have some snow. I'm excited to see snow in Utah but OMG ! That is insane. Drive careful and stay warm.

  6. Wow, that is one huge pile of snow but it sure does make a pretty picture.

Congrats on all you wonderful prizes. They look like excellent books.

  7. Indeed! You are a winner! I would buy a lottery ticket and take a few unusual (but not unsafe) chances. Something is smiling on you. And if it makes you feel any better, we had a foot of snow on Wednesday followed by rain and now freezing (about zero) temperatures. It's face freezing weather today.

  8. SNNOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
For those of us that rarely see snow this photo is awesome (brings back memories, I have lived in snowy climates) the best kind of warm is after you've been "playing" in the snow...you are cold and wet...then you come inside...put on fresh warm clothes, sit by the fire with something fabulous to drink.
I do however sympathize with digging your way out and having to drive in that stuff!!! and living with it until what June?

  9. yay for you! now you have stuff to do in all that snow! our newspaper had a story about a giant snowball fight at the university when classes were canceled. and well, i don't know if you like snowball fights, but they kind of go along with your spunk. that's right. i said spunk. oops. i said it again.

  10. Oooo You are so lucky!! Look at that!! I would love to have a copy of Jen Lee's journal!!! I keep meaning to go down to a shop on 5th Avenue - she posted a couple weeks ago that they were there!

Thanks for sharing the snow... I'm stuck in the FREEZING cold, dreaming about it!

  13. BRRRR! That's a lot of snow! I love your mailbox as it "sits" in the white stuff! That is cute. It's raining today in so. California and that means some snow in our local mountains at the 6000 ft. level and higher, anyway. Stay warm! Be careful! Have a merry "white" Christmas!

  14. Thank you so much for your comment!! Your blog is so beautiful. I really, really love the header, it is so witty! Your photography is stunning, really, and I am completely jealous of the snow.

  15. I say RUN and go buy a lottery ticket now before the luck runs out. But from the looks of that picture skiing to the nearest store looks like a faster option! Great pic of the white stuff - pretty to look at but oh, so cold!

  17. Whoa...I heard that WI got dumped on. My hubby is in Chicago freezing his booty in the -20 windchill. Oh, I do have a guest room and I live in Cali...just sayin' :)

  18. I love the snowy picture! And congrats on all your wins!!! Whoo HOO!!! Happy Weekending~

  19. I think a snow globe with your comments floating around would be hilarious...and sell like hot cakes!

anyway...no snow here, just bitter cold. sure the sun is out, but it's more just a white hot reminder that the winter sun is not so much for warming as it is for lighting up the cold.

  20. you are on a roll or running a lucky streak! and the snow...wow! i would like just a little. we have had lots of rain but no snow. but it is very cold and windy here today...

  21. Hi Beth you can camp out in my home, welcome anytime. But it's not Californian weather I can offer you, on the other hand still no snow.

How I love to see you have houses of stone...don't seen that much in the States. You live in one just like that?

    Be well.

  22. What a run of *Good Luck* you are having...wish I could absorb some via blog osmosis...ENJOY!

Luv that snow pic and how you wrote all over it - how the heck do you do THAT?!

Thanks for the fun post, I always enjoy stopping by here!

  23. Holey moley! Look at all that snow!! I've been complaining all day about how stinkin' cold it is here, but that snow... sheesh! At least I can see my driveway!!

You are one lucky lady! Go buy a lottery ticket NOW!!!

  24. Cool picture. But atleast you're snowed in to enjoy your really cool gifts.

  25. I would really like to see some of that white stuff once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh my! That looks like my house last year... so glad its not my house THIS year... yet anyway :) Because all I really see anymore in looking at all that whiteness? Is water and oh how our river and our town needs no more water. So I'll cross my fingers that neither one of us gets anymore of the white stuff.

So glad to see someone else get as lucky as I did in a giveaway, especially you :)

ps... just read about the Help-Portrait project in our town... it was such a success they are now going to extend it and do more at the rape and abuse center next weekend!! Yippeeeee!

  27. Wow, that is a lot of snow. Okay, I can see why that would be a little depressing. Hope you have a nice mug of hot chocolate at hand. Congrats on all those wins. You deserve it for having to put up with all that winter white.

  28. May your luck just keep on… and on…!
Not California - but your welcome to my spare bedroom and temperatures between 10 and 40˚C!

  29. Oh how I wish I had a suitable space to have guests! I would invite you in a heartbeat! That is the cost of living here. Yes, there is sun, but it costs a pretty penny and there fore we live in a home the size of a shoebox! Maybe one day we will have a bigger home, or we will be able to add on. In the meantime, we have a couch :)
    XOXOXO
PS it looks so beautiful with all of that snow! We just have rain here. And can you send some of your good luck my way? I want to win something! :)

  30. That's a lot of snow and it looks so beautiful, I don't suppose it's much fun for you though.

    Congrats on all your winnings.

  31. I've never experienced snow like your picture.
It's hot hot where I am... a predicted 40 degrees celcius today.

    keep warm

  32. There's no snow in Portland, Oregon; but it is awful cold.

Congratulations on the wins! Isn't it exciting? I won a homemade tree ornament and was thrilled.

  33. you deserve all the love and all the luck. I adore you. Thanks for considering my little zine a little piece of your luck. xoxox

  34. You are so welcome to the snow...and, if I had a spare bedroom, you'd be welcome to it. I know you'd be the best company. Of course, this suburb of San Francisco isn't at all warm these days and we do have our share of fog. In fact, Pacific, our neighbor holds an annual Fog Fest which is great fun.

Congratulations on all the wins. Isn't that great fun.

  35. WOW! Would you buy me a lottery ticket please???? YOu are one lucky lady-- Except for that snow! OMG!!! Your notes are a hoot.

Be careful out there and I hope you know a good snow plow driver!

  38. Ms. B., I really want to comment on the past five posts, but since I'm on my pokey-box at home, I'm doing it all in one. First -- this baby is a dear, and her mom will treasure these forever. And congrats!

Sorry about the big dump. We clearly didn't get it like you did -- we were supposed to; not sure where it stopped, but you have my deepest sympathy!

Christmas -- well, you know I overdo. But you don't have to overdo to do what is meaningful for the holiday, and as I read down to the help portrait I thought "that is worth more than a twelve dozen cookies, eleven homemade ornaments, ten Christmas parties, nine different Santas... you get it. That's beautiful. That, my dear holiday burnout friend, is Christmas. Joy to YOUR world.

  39. It was supposed to snow here this weekend (for the first time this year) but now they have downgraded the forecast to a few flurries, or maybe just a few FLAKES. What a bummer..I was so hoping for some white stuff while I make my gingerbread men. Could I, may I please have some of yours?

  40. Isn't it so exciting to be the person who never wins anything and win something!? :) And the snow is beautiful! It's even cold in NC this week though! Brrrr... I wish if we have to suffer through these temperatures we could at least get some fluffy goodness out of it!

    ReplyDelete
  41. You lucky thing you. GEEZ!! NO WAY could I live with all that snow so early in the winter. Just looking at it makes me dread what must be coming.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hey now... don't forget south. It's been in the mid to high seventies this week! Although, I would probably prefer So-Cal myself, too!

    :)

  43. I live in California and you can come stay ANYTIME... I will just charge you a photoshoot! :) heehee... hey wait, maybe we are onto something here. Except I hate winter pics when we are all white. Hmmm.... California is pretty nice in the summer too.

  44. it's pretty and i do want some down here in the south but yes that's A LOT of snow. too much to live in for long periods of time.
