the kind of bubble i like living in....

when we asked them where they were playing
they said they had just finished
i said
"i can't believe we missed you"
so they stopped right where they were
and
played two songs just for us
i didn't know the songs
but
hey
they were playing just for us
and
i thought
their kindness
is a beauty you just don't find everyday
they told us they are
~the funky groovy cowboys~
and
i think
just maybe
someday they'll go someplace
big
and
then
i'll be able to say
"i knew them when"

  1. Oh that's awesome! They have the "look" for stardom! If they have the talent to go with those instruments and their aura, then who knows?! :)

  2. Aspiring musicians are wonderful! Such talent, and sometimes they just give it away freely. Love this post.

  3. Wasn't that just the sweetest thing! It's the kind of moment that makes you realize that people really are kind and generous and making that tiny connection gives you hope. At least it does for me....until someone cuts me off in traffic! :)

  11. We hear so much of man's inhumanity to man, but you remind us that willingness to connect with one another on some less-than-superficial level is just the coolest human trait. Don't you love the serendipity? Thanks so much for telling this story.
