it's there....

if you want to see it
if you turn your head to the right
if you use your finger and outline it
~
tell me
where yours is today
~
on your sleeve perhaps
::
tell me you see the heart above
and
then
tell me yours is swollen with love
that it's too big for your chest
that the pain is gone
that the broken feeling it once had has disappeared
~
tell me your heart cries when your child is hurt
that it dances when you smile
that it beats loud enough to be heard when your loved ones are around
that it feels everything when your eyes are too tired to see
and
that it didn't absorb the ugly words that were thrown at it back in high school
~
tell me that others feel your heart long before they see you enter a room
go ahead
tell me

  10. Waaaaah! I can't see it. Should I fake it? No. I'll be honest. If I use my imagination perhaps I know where it is but honestly, I'm not seeing a true heart.
The picture is gorgeous none-the-less and I adore what you have written. Love, love, love it.

  22. Beth, It's wonderful to see things in nature that speak to us as you did, isn't it? You have been given a gift that is like a growing heart spreading to those who touch you. I have been blessed by your words and I give thanks for your love even though we don't know each other. And I also give thanks to your family for sharing you.
My two daughters are 26 yrs., and 30yrs., and I am 49. I raised them alone with many rough patches. One year when my youngest was 14, she gave me a small golden heart which is approx. 1/4" that she bought with her own babysitting money at the time. When I opened it that Christmas she told me, "Mom, this heart is to put on your chain with your cross, so you will never have a broken heart again." Ever since that day I have felt different. And I have realized we all have the power to find happiness everyday ~ if we just look.
Beth you have that gift. And I thank you for sharing your gift the way you do, you are a braver soul than I, Mary Lou

  24. I see it. Right now my heart is just a little bit tired, but it's there where it always is, on my sleeve. but mostly, yes, what you said.

  25. I see it. I love deeply. I wear my heart way out on my sleeve. It's been broken but it fixes itself with love. Always.

  26. Absolutely beautiful words.

My heart is finally safe. The pain it used to take from the wrong people constantly abusing it with failed friendships is now being obliterated. Most of it has already been healed, and the little bits I'm still finding are being systematically vaporized. And replaced with more tendrils of sweet, sweet love.

  27. Lovely. Photo and words both.

  28. I swear your words are something I would expect to read while standing an old book store, paging through a book of poetry by an unknown author.

  36. Hello Beth. Lovely photo. :)
It reminds me of photos taken by a friend of mine. She captures hearts everywhere as well. She says when she sees a heart, it's a reminder that you are loved. :)
