it's monday again...and i have rules.

i spoke to my fish today. telling him that he'd have to eat his fish flakes first before i cleaned out his fishbowl.
i think sometimes being home alone all day is a blessing.
*
a little photo....a little snippet of words....
this is a little practice for what i think my august will look like
~
have you heard about the "summer break" that susannah is taking about
~
i think it sounds refreshing and light. days of blogging with just a photo or two.
or maybe a photo and just a few words. or maybe just a few words.
i like that there aren't any rules except for the ones you make up in your head
~
so if you decide to explode one day with hundreds of words
that's okay
too
*
if you want the information to the summer break i mentioned above
~which is actually the" august break"~
scroll to the bottom of this page
and
click on the august break button

  2. Yes, no one sees how goofy we can really be -- that is except for our pets!
How/where did you get 3 old scales like these-did you keep them?
    They make a cool picture.

  8. Love that photo, and yes, sometimes you need a little break, and I am sure that yours will all be fabulous. You could just show us a picture and that would always be enough.

Instead of an August break, I started a new blog with more photos and less words. Kind of counterproductive, I guess. sigh.

    An August break is tempting.....

  16. I'd love to weigh in on one of those vintage scales, Beth - hopefully, the calibration would be off! I'll go look at the August Break.

  19. I could put one foot on one of those scales, the other foot on the next scale and my ten ton purse on the next scale.

  20. My husband has never met a scale he didn't want to stand on...he has this thing about checking his weight often. Not why you might suspect though, he has such a high metabolism, he is always wanting to GAIN weight. I know, I know...we just don't talk about it in our house. Makes me want to kick his scrawny rump...haha!

  29. I have 2 bettas, Eli & Kaleb. I often talk to them, and always amuse myself with the notion that they have no idea what the heck the 'food hand' is doing, but the awareness that unless I pick up the jar of freeze dried worms that I am otherwise completely uninteresting. They look at me like "seriously, creature, it's been 2 hours since I last feasted, let's get on with this."

    They're adorable angry little creatures.

  30. love the idea of taking a break. we're not having summer yet though, although spring is almost here. and it's kinda hard to wrap my head around signing up for everything because although the program seems loose enough, when it is not your program it kinda becomes a chore. so i am thinking about it. considering it. most probably -ing it.
