this is one of our resident cottage squirrels
who likes to nibble on whatever we put in the bird feeders
~see his little stock pile in front of him~
and
because i think he's adorable
he gets away with it
~
last weekend
after he finished stuffing himself silly
he ran down the hill
and
literally threw himself onto the coolness that the top of the cement septic tank
offered him
and
just laid there
~
i was waiting for him to roll over
and
un-buckle his pants so he could rest his hand in waist band
and
close his eyes for the rest of the afternoon
but
he didn't
~
obviously
this is a squirrel with manners
and
if my squirrel didn't make you smile
without question
~
talk about an amazingly creative mom

a squirrel with manners...ya cant top that, LOL. I'm taking part in the August break myself...I'm hoping that not having to come up with words for my blog will get me over this hump...
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels! So cute :)
ReplyDeletesquirrels always make me smile. i had a kindergartner who always called me 'ms squirrel' - sperl-squirrel?? it always made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI love it... he just spreads out and takes it easy! My squirrels spend their time dodging the shih tzu's.
ReplyDeleteyour commentary makes this so funny beth..love the baby link too..such imagination
ReplyDeleteWell, both things totally made me smile...
ReplyDeletesuperb shot,
ReplyDeletecute and fun to look at.
He looks positively flattened with gluttony. My resident squirrels figured out the squirrel-proof Tom Torrens birdfeeder the very first day it was installed. Squirrel-proof, my a*s.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I cannot resist a cute squirrel!
ReplyDeleteOur squirrels do the same thing on the branches of our oak trees. I love it when they stretch all the way out on their tummies like that.
ReplyDeletebless his heart! lol
ReplyDeletesmiling... no beaming.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteWhat a great portrait of that little fella!
ReplyDeleteHaHa! Love that mannerly squirrel! Your words make me laugh as much as the photos:)
ReplyDelete....but that baby! How creative is that mom! Loved that link....
A very clever squirrels indeed. I have never seen one sprawled out like that. They definitely like to help themselves to my bird food.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute Bookworm.
I am not convinced she has manners - she may just be so exhausted from her invasion of the bird feeder and overindulging in a feeding spree that she is too tired to lift her head and must rest before the next adventure.
ReplyDeleteYour little squirrel friend is so cute. A bit of a glutton maybe but you captured the personality exactly. I don't care what anyone says, they do have personalities.
ReplyDeleteGreat squirrel shot! And him on the cement just cracked me up!!
ReplyDeleteHugs
SueAnn
I love squirrels...as you know.
ReplyDeletefun funny pictures, great story...you just gotta write a book, OK? and oh that little Bookworm....precious! and thanks for leading me to the August Break!! I am in!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is the picture from your link!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have squirrels in South Africa. Not a lot anyway and not the types like in the USA. We have Meerkats which you should look into because they are extremely inquisitive and have the most amazing personality.
Oh is IS adorable. I love squirrels. That link is just so precious.
ReplyDeleteYour squirrel story had me snorting with laughter. Really cracking up. And that Mila - oh my! I tell you what, her baby is a good sleeper.
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether to laugh or to awwwwwww.
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is hilarious!
And what a cool way to photograph your baby...so original and sweet.
