we played in the woods this past weekend
i noticed
john making a little manly stick figure
but
then i was worried little stick figure man would get walked on
so i gave him some shoes
and
then built a little fence around him to keep him protected
then we got really creative
and
made a LOVE sign
and
what's a LOVE sign if you don't leave arrows
in order to find it again
we're going back next weekend
if you want to join us
and
i think this time i'll make a
DREAM
sign

what's the saying....something like "you don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing".....i think there's lots of truth in that
LOVE this- how fun...and that's what it's ALL about, isn't it? Have a wonderful day, Beth!

Sah-weet!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it. How fun. It reminded me of the little bird campfires that my daughter made as a child. They were small and were a little circle made of twigs. She always made them when we went camping.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to find your little message trail as I was walking in the woods! The quote you posted is something a lot of people SHOULD live by but don't. I know several 'old' ones who can't relate to this and are prisoners in themselves...
ReplyDeletea goof? i would say romantic!! let us know if he is still there when you go back~
ReplyDeleteCreative... Beautiful... Romantic... ♥♥♥ IT!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, this is nice. We never get too old to play. Your love sign is really nice. Wonder what you will find next weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! My favorite is the "LOVE" photo. I've started a project that this would suit really well. Check it out here http://cheerificnotations.blogspot.com/2010/07/walk-with-me-july-19th-25th.html
ReplyDeleteThat's so creative! What a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Being playful is so wonderful. =) It reminds me of when my best friend and I made a word out of stones at winter camp one year. The word was tsadik, and we actually spelled it out in the Hebrew letters, so I imagine no one who came across it had any idea what it meant... That is a beautiful place. Where did you go camping?
ReplyDeleteSO cool. How I'd love to be walking down this path and discover this message! I would feel so special!
ReplyDeleteso true, so very true. I love your photos.
ReplyDeleteOK...that's just way too cute! And I love the photos...I want to go for a walk in the woods!!

ReplyDeleteYou aren't total goofs, you are totally sweet! I love the little man, and I LOVE the arrows leading back to love. You might find me, next week when you go back, sitting next to that little man.

I have many memories of that beautiful rocky terrain. I love Wisconsin!!!
ReplyDeletethere is a beach on the island of St.John you would love to photograph. Everyone who visits make stick figures and rock figures- they are so cool- your little stick figure reminded me of Drunkards Bay where the stick people lay. I am a goof too!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds heavenly, and I am sure it was.
ReplyDeletei love you guys. simple as that.
ReplyDeleteWatch out Andy Goldsworthy......

ReplyDeleteMore folks should do stuff like that. I'll have to remember next time I'm out in the woods. I'd love to stumble on that. Heh, heh.
Just doing your part to make life a bit more surreal.
This is just a fabulous post! Congrats on the POTW award...well deserved. I love the arrows pointing to the LOVE sculpture.
