a year later.....

it's amazing how fast time goes by. have you ever noticed how everyone has their own way of measuring of it? "six months ago today we got married," "it's been three years ago today that we moved into our new house," "i'm nine months sober," etc.

a year ago today we said good-bye to our furry baby.

i taught her to be a rebel and to trespass.
{have you ever seen a dog in jail? there's my point as to why not}

she taught me everything else.

she made us laugh and brought loads of life to our lives and we miss her horribly. thankfully, we have grand-dogs that now fill the void of her absence and for that i'm so grateful. oh sweet girl, you were such a blessing to our lives and will forever be missed. i hope today you're running around on a gorgeous sandy beach with the wind in your hair.

  1. Oh, Beth, it still hurts doesn't it? She had very soulful eyes, your precious girl.... And the picture of her running across the beach makes me think she rarely ever touched down. The two of you were a lot a like, trespasser x2. :)

    She is just adorable, and I am very sure she is running on that beach.

  5. That is the sweetest looking doglet ... she reminds me so much of my own, although yours looks happier, no doubt a result of all that wild free living :-) I am so sorry for your grief, but certain she is in a good place and will bound up to meet you again some time.

  6. Isn't it amazing how dogs can read our moods and seem to instinctively know when we need a good licking/doggy kiss or cuddling. Your entry brought back memories of my first dog - a stray who found his way to us when I was 5 years old. He was a member of our family for 14 years. The pain of loss never quite leaves, does it.

  12. Oh, Beth, I remember that time for you. She was adorable and such a love in your heart. And while everyone misses their love in a different way, I know firsthand that when you have loved a furfamily member, your heart is changed. Even if a new one comes along to love, you still ache, just a little and always will.

    These are wonderful photos. I know she's playing at the Rainboww Bridge and waiting for you.
