sometimes....

sometimes
my favorite littles run away from me

sometimes
they swing to extraordinary heights

sometimes
they bring me flowers

sometimes
they actually sit for a group photo

sometimes
they strangle each other
~
sometimes i can't believe how long it's been since i've posted, which makes me cringe when i think about how fast time is disappearing. can you believe it's already may. that means next month is june and half of 2012 will be over with. what.
~
have you seen "larry crowne." we saw it in the theatre when it first came out and watched it again this past weekend. it's worth watching twice. seriously, it's that good and that funny.
~
i had another tick scare yesterday in an area that i couldn't really see very well {if you know what i mean} lucky for me, it was just a blood blister. the doctor really wasn't sure at first what it was either, which made me feel less crazy. she cut it open just to make sure there wasn't a creepy crawling creature hiding in it. i wonder if they've marked my chart, "crazy lady who's going to think that every strange thing on her body this summer is a tick." probably.
oh well. it's better then "crazy lady who's simply just crazy."

I got down on the floor last night next to where our Izzy pup was sleeping and saw something move on her nose. It WAS A TICK! The thing is, our pups get flea and tick meds every month, but those meds only prevent the tick from attaching itself to their skin... it does not prevent the tick from grabbing a free ride into the house!! GAH. Anyhoo..... I killed the tick. Dang!

  7. How about you stay in your house forever until those pesky ticks have disappeared for the season, or forever? '-)
Just joking, seriously though I hope you keep well covered when you venture out.
    Be safe, xo

  9. Love these shots.... and you'd go NUTZ living here on the farm. Ticks everywhere. I've started letting my chickens freeroam, hoping they'll eat many of them.

It's been a super fast school year, and this super fast spring is not helping---our oldest is graduating high school in three weeks! How did she get so big so fast? I don't want 2012 to be half over next month!!

You're not alone with your little ones running away---my big ones do the same (that's why I've resigned myself to taking only nature shots)! ; )

  17. Found a deer tick on the inside of my arm while drying myself after my morning shower. That makes three ticks in the past three weeks. Gah.

Sweet photos here. Love the swing shot!

  18. That group shot with little miss giggle pants is hysterical. I love your photography, and I have missed you. My Ellie pup has had four ticks...it's making me crazy and paranoid. It's actually surprising that I haven't gotten one yet. I get everything else. If I get one, will I know it right away?

  19. glad you are getting those things checked out.... better crazy healthy lady than chronically sick with lyme lady :)

wasn't sure about Larry Crowne... glad you checked it out first :) now I will (but does it end happy???)

  20. You managed to capture four children actually smiling and looking at you at the same time! Now that is quite a feat! Gorgeous shots too:)

I am now picturing the doctor checking out the blood blister...and I'm trying to guess where that blood blister was because that must have hurt too!

  23. well, it's way better than being the crazy lady with lyme's disease....

  24. I remember my first encounter with a tick. It was on Sloane's head and Jeffrey was out of town. You wouldn't believe how many people I called before I got up the nerve to deal with it myself.

  25. It's always better to be crazy for a reason! I have never dealt with ticks but apparantly we do have them here.
Your neighbourhood children (and their parents) are so lucky to have such a talented photographer to help chart the ordinary but special moments in their lives!
