I'm pretty good at dodge ball, but obviously suck at playing tag...

as in
"tell us 7 things about yourself
I just acknowledged you as someone who inspires me
just shared 7 things about myself
on my blog
now it's your turn
to do the same on your blog"
many of you have hugged me and patted me on the back
reassuring me that what I do here is worthy and I have failed to say thank you
by playing along and I'm here to apologize
to finally play
1. it's been so cold here in wisconsin, that when I see people waiting at the bus stop, I wish I could stop and pick them and take them where they need to go.
2. I like to give big tips at restaurants, thinking that often, our waitress is probably a single mom working 3 jobs and that what I leave behind could make a difference in her life.
3. although I love the little things in life, it's also the little things that drive me nuts. for example, yesterday I wanted to buy a pair of socks, but the ones that I wanted were in a 3-pack and the other two pairs were awful. I didn't buy them.
4. in high school I was a varsity boys basketball cheerleader and was also on the track team. I held the school record for the 400 for 3 years until some little snit came along and broke it. the little snit was my cousin.
5. it seems that the hair on my legs doesn't grow nearly as fast in the winter months as it does during the summer.
6. I've been working in my journal and love to paint and create the pages, but hate to write on them when they're finished...which pretty much makes my journal a book of artwork instead of a journal filled with thoughts and dreams and upsets and desires and secrets.
7. I have a hard time giving my full attention to people or things or ideas. my family jokes that's it's my adult a.d.d. and I often think it's not a joke, that it probably really is that and that I even had it as a child, but they didn't have a name for it back then.
in the true name of tag
I'm supposed to tag 7 more people to play this game
since I don't want to hurt any feelings
you're all
so thank you
you and you and you
for being part of my blogging life
thinking highly enough of me
to let me be part of yours
by awarding me the kreativ blogger and scrap honest awards
to those of you I forgot
I am so sorry

  1. the best thing about art journals is that there are no rules ! If it becomes a book full of art work then it is also a documentation of all the time that youhave taken to express yourself in a wonderful creative way - taken time to play with inner artist.
    No judgement, beautiful one !
You are enough just the way you are right this minute !!!
    Love to you !

  2. LOL--I know how you feel about tag. I was never good at it in school, either. I was always it. And would be for the entire recess. Thanks for playing. I don't know who started the tag thing, but whoever it was kind of created a monster. Jeepers.

Love the photos! Makes me want to reach into the screen and get my hands all painty. :)

  3. wonderful, though I think this tag is a bit more like dodge-ball!

Congratulations on the 400 record - three years is still impressive!

  4. Can I play another day? It is always fun to learn more about our friends here in blogland. Why does it not surprise me that you have a bit of adult a.d.d. I love people with adult a.d.d., they often are so creative. I have a dear friend that is like that. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Your just too cute for words, Making a book of art...I have always thought the same thing, why would you write on such works..... EVEN the photos of your paints, etc, is beautiful....take care.

  6. i get that you have adult add...lol

and it's too cold to play outside.

i'm becoming addicted to my art journal even though it's lately mostly a collage as i haven't had time to paint in it.

  7. Your number 7 strikes all too close to home and I've decided its either adult ADD or peri-menopause... I don't know which sucks more, just one perhaps sounds better than the other!!

Glad you decided to play, I too love getting to know someone this way :)

  8. I'm finding these seven things about everyone interesting.

  9. I'm like you on point #2.
Haven't yet done the study for point #5
    I love stopping by here.

  10. Fast, creative, compassionate - you can get tagged!

#7: "I have recently been diagnosed with Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder (AAADD). This is how it goes ...

I decide to wash the car, start toward the garage and notice the mail on the table.

OK, I'm going to wash the car...

BUT FIRST I'm going to go through the mail. Lay car keys down on desk. After discarding the junk mail, I notice the trash can is full. OK, I'll just put the bills on my desk....

BUT FIRST I'll take the trash out, but since I'm going to be near the mailbox, I'll address a few bills.... Yes, Now where is the checkbook? Oops... there's only one check left. Where did I put the extra checks? Oh, there's my empty plastic cup from last night on my desk. I'm going to look for those checks...

BUT FIRST I need to put the cup back in the kitchen. I head for the kitchen, look out the window, notice the flowers need a drink of water, I put the cup on the counter and there's my extra pair of glasses on the kitchen counter. What are they doing here? I'll just put them away...

BUT FIRST need to water those plants. I head for the door and... Aaaagh! Someone left the TV remote in the wrong spot. Okay, I'll put the remote away and water the plants...

BUT FIRST I need to find those checks.

END OF DAY: car not washed, bills still unpaid, cup still in the sink, checkbook still has only one check left, lost my car keys; and, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm baffled because... I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY! I realize this condition is serious...

    I'd get help...

    BUT FIRST...

    I think I'll check my e-mail!"

    (From "ahajokes.com", but I think I too have a bit of a.d.d.!)

  11. heh it's hard work trying to think of the seven things isn't it? I can never think of anything really interesting to say.

I enjoyed reading your seven things about yourself though and yeah, I've never realised that about the leg hair before!

  12. Ah, number 7. It might be true, as I've read, that creative types are often also ADD types. I'm reluctant to use boxes or labels of any kind, but sometimes they're helpful for self-awareness. When my son was diagnosed after a long and careful evaluation as having ADD, I looked around the family to see where the link might be. An astute friend pointed out that I should be looking in the mirror!

This was quite fun to read, Beth. I also balk at being coerced to buy more than I want to.

  13. Beth,
all good stuff to know & retain.

    i love these 2 photos...
like shooting through a dirty window,
or a pane who's trim was painted by a child.

    love it!

  14. this picture is soo great!

and i think that your generous tipping is just wonderful.

  15. Loved reading these bits about you Beth.

  16. What a great list! I love these little tag games because you really do get to know people better that way. You have such a kind heart and I love that about you!

  17. #5 - its the lack of sun. you just try coming here to see what happens when you have too much sun!!!

  18. I enjoyed reading your seven things. The hairs on my legs seem to grow at rapid speed no matter what season it is. Whoever said that they grow slower as you get older didn't walk in my shoes. haha

  19. beth,
you and me both on the adult A.D.D.
i swear i have it and explains a lot about my childhood:)

  20. It took me awhile, but I'm beginning to understand how you feel about this topic. Still, I'm glad you shared the snippets...because any chance I have to know you better, I'll take it!

  21. Love learning more about you...having been a waitress in high-school and college I still tip big even 40 years later:)

  22. A book of artwork is as valuable or more than a book of words because....

    every picture is worth____________.

  23. I'll accept the tag, think about it, and come up with something to blog when my blog brain is otherwise dead.

  24. Hehehehehe...number 5 made me laugh!

**I love reading the comments you leave, as they make me feel like we're sitting in my kitchen, having a cup of tea, discussing life and wondering where all the time has gone ...beth
