always watch where you're going....

no matter how much planning is involved
the path in front of you
can change instantly
~~~~~
we ended up cutting our trip short
as we were needed at home
and
we did what any parent would do
we left
florida
~~~~~
when your children are little you're there for everything
colic
pinched fingers
first steps
potty training
fevers
~~~~~
as they continue to grow
you're still there
but now for things that feel different
because they're more independent
hugs
tears
talks
understanding
~~~~~
and
sometimes
just when you think they don't need you quite as much as they used to
they need you even more than you ever imagined
yes
teenagers have a way of doing that to you

  2. Beth- I am sorry you had to leave Florida. I am sure that the reason you came back is very important to someone and they are glad you are home and are grateful you are their parents.

  3. What a gift family is, even when it feels sometimes as if you got the white elephant that someone re-gifted. It's clear that coming home was your calling and that Florida couldn't do any more for you right at this instant. Welcome home!

  4. Oh, Beth.

    What we do for our children. Of course, I imagine it is nice to still be needed. I am so grateful for the time you did have in Florida. May your winter be short. and less cold than usual.

  5. I think they still need us when they're 90 -- I know when I'm seriously sick, I still want MY mom. Hope all is ok, hearts and bodies ... sorry about your trip but I think the Florida infusion will surely assist thru the cold spell, at least for a little while! Love and more love!
