they had muskrat for dinner....

and
fish for lunch
and
now we're waiting anxiously for egg number 3 to hatch

the babies
are being fed quite regularly
and
if you've never seen an adult eagle sleep
well
you're in for a treat

is the link
~
the ads at the beginning can be annoying and every once in a while
the camera will have zoomed in and all you get is a face full of feathers
until it zooms back out again
but
it's so worth it

  1. Oooh how wonderful! I often check out the SANParks webcamse (here: http://www.sanparks.org/webcams/) to see who's coming to the waterhole. Thansk for the new distraction! :)

  2. Isn't that an amazing creature. I hope to see the family (two young) of baldies which have been hanging out at the cottage again this summer.

Awww those babies are peeping right now.

  3. We have this on our screens over to the side and when we are doing something else we have the eagles on wide screen. Amazing isn't it?

  4. Funny. we took the kiddos for a walk saturday at picnic point...we saw a muskrat up close and personal and a bald eagle UP CLOSE in a tree eating a fish! (we also saw frogs, ducks....so on) but your post made me laugh!

  14. You find the neatest stuff. Really, just the best. I still remember that time you photographed a dead bird's wings and shared it with us. Remember?

  17. I watched one of these last year, got all attached to the sweet baby girl in the nest (only one out of the two eggs hatched), watched her grow feathers and eat bigger prey....and then she unexpectedly died of a respiratory illness. I can't bear to watch again! As beautiful as they are.
