two nights before we left florida
and
headed for home
this is the sunset mother nature blessed us with
and
then after being home only three days
this is the wisconsin reality she threw in our faces
~
actually i think mother nature must have a new
highly under qualified
assistant
that has a mean streak and was fired from his last job
working for her temporarily
{we can only hope}
~
anyhow
the sunset photo above is untouched
{straight out of the camera}
and
honestly
the sky was that orange
~
and
the snow photo
{also straight out of the camera}
well
it has been touched
and
crumpled
and
torn into tiny pieces
stomped on
and
burned
~
what
i'm not bitter
i'm not
~
seriously
i "savored" the entire minute it took for that photo to go up in flames
*
Mother Nature is ticked off for sure!

I feel your pain girlfriend! and Holy Shit...did the snow really blow right thru your screens?
ReplyDeleteyeah....we're paying for last week's faux spring too - icicles were hanging from my jeep this morning.
ReplyDeleteKeep the orange in your heart and mind, Beth, as we go through the white. Thanks again for giving me a taste of it to keep me going too.
ReplyDeleteLove ya !
Come now. No complaints from you young lady! After all, you did get two months worth of stocking up on sunshine before you were dealt with the snow blow. What about those of us who were sucker punched after already dealing with months of SADD????
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. I can imagine the transition was not fun. Cute post. :)
Your sense of humor will surely get you throught the worst of it! You make me smile anyways! Now to savor each beautiful snowflake:)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Good one. I feel your wintery pain as I'm freezing in here in Texas (even with the space heater running!)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I hear you. We are due to go out to Tucson in a week. It has been freezing out there. It better warm up for us, that is all I can say. Be happy you had nice weather in Florida at least! Ugh...winter....hates it!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr. That sunset is gorgeous.... I'm always amazed at the beauty we're blessed with each day.
ReplyDeleteI was awe-stricken by your heavenly sunset photo, and wondered at your title.
ReplyDeleteI know your porch scene is as opposite as one can get from your previous one, but here in Indiana we have at least three inches of ice beneath our snow. Right now, if in a snuggly Hoosier home, one can say, "It's beautiful!" But if outdoors, "Eek, it's frigid!"
you are so funny. and ugh. snow. enough already.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine. It's cloudy and in the 40s here and I'm freezing my ass off. (I wish!)
ReplyDeletemay your hot temper melt all that snow SOON..... LOL
ReplyDeleteDi
OMGosh thanks for that laugh! The only way I've not gone stir crazy with this winter is that every once in a while I get a great photo out of it. Small blessings.
ReplyDeleteLOL! At least you have your wit to help you through the winter. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL. I hear ya...if you get the chance check out what mother nature left on my door step. :)
ReplyDeleteI make a habit of "firing" the weather people from time to time.... It keeps them in line and shows them I'm still the boss.
ReplyDeleteThat snow is what you get when you escape to the south and then try to sneak back into WI and act like you never enjoyed that gorgeous sunset at the beach. Seriously though, glad you weren't trying to return in the middle of that storm. Gotta luv Wisconsin.
ReplyDeletedonna
and you're okay now ... right???!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny but I can so empathize. I'm just about done with winter.. nearly.
ReplyDeleteAt least, my dear, you got to enjoy that glorious sunset though I'm sure it did make the snow seem all the worse!
ReplyDeletethat is just wrong. and cruel. YOU, however, are hilarious & wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular sunset!! Yes, Mother Nature is making you pay for your Florida idyll. But you're getting your "revenge." Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteClearly, Mother Nature does not have a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteBut that's a gorgeous sunset.

You made me laugh!! Perhaps the contrast of such warmth to such winter cold was too much?!?!?
ReplyDeleteLove the sunset! And feel you. I live in Norway:P Like your blog alot! Just started mine yesterday:) I'm writing about fashion, my life as a model and a healthier lifestyle:) Welcome!

Hahaha!!! I've been wondering how you were doing coming back from Florida into that wild winter weather. Now I know...
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS sunset. Come back for more!
What an amazing contrast. No wonder you are fighting it and struggling. I would too. The sunset is just amazing. I don't think I have ever seen one that vibrant.
ReplyDeleteI have been loving your pictures and posts this week.My goal is to get as good at taking photos this year as you.
ReplyDeleteThink Florida. Think Florida....
ReplyDeleteI wish you could hear the reactions of people who read your blog as they are reading. In this case, you would be hearing first a gasp at the beautiful sunset. Then a "Eeew" at the snow. And finally a "Ha Ha!" (significant chuckling!)
ReplyDeletelol..you are too funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd that sky is absolutely spectacular!!!
But there's got to be some tiny part of you, even deeply buried, that loves the snow just a little bit? Maybe?
I've been catching up with you, Beth, and landed down here - at the sunset and the snow. All, I can say is: Join the club! I'm sure when you can start photographing spring, I'll still be immersed in white.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this to Sunset Sunday today. That is one drop dead gorgeous sunset!
