i don't know how you do it but i can't quite enough of you. maybe it's the way you smell. or your gentleness in the morning. maybe it's the way you calm my nerves and give me the ability to see everything in a new light. you seem to listen to what i need and don't seem the least bit unnerved if i spend my entire days just staring at you. in the evenings your chilling ways force me to lie beneath a heavy quilt begging you for more. and even though i know you can't stay here forever and that in a few months you'll be gone, i'm going to love you now like you've never been loved before.
what a beautiful love letter to your seasonal lover. Enjoy! For I am still sweating in the 100 degree humidity and NOT feeling the love of a Fall Lover...YET!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Beth. You made me appreciate this cool morning even more...thank you.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that! I happen to be in total agreement:)
ReplyDeleteYou are right Beth, it does feel like a big heavy weight has been lifted off of me. Thanks fall. It's nice to really breath deep again. The deeper and richer colors are beginning to show now...how exciting.
ReplyDeleteOk, that's it! I'm going for a long bicycle ride, bye!!!
Wonderful writing. This says what we all feel, but you say it so much better.
ReplyDeleteThe seasons do feel like persons come to visit for awhile. Some we hope will linger;with others we want to keep the visit short.
ReplyDeleteFall is gently rolling in here in this part of Ohio and people are visually relaxing ---such a hot summer.
Beautiful words--spoken for many of us.
autumn is my favorite visitor ...
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeletesuch a heartfelt love letter :)
ReplyDeleteHey Beth, You give Good Love !
ReplyDeleteHey Fall, Ditto this from me !;)
You put into beautiful words what I feel. Thank you
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts and picture. Oh the morning air is definitely feeling like fall. I am hoping for a little more of summer though, not ready to let go.
ReplyDeleteLove!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - me, too!
ReplyDeleteI love fall too!
ReplyDeleteCheers, jj
It is a lovely time of year! Thankfully, my part of the world is normally cool most of the time and that is just the way I like it. I wilt in the heat and it just saps my energy. That's why I fled my Southern homeland and I love the cool kisses of the San Francisco fog and, though I travel in equatorial places, it is always hard for me perspiring and fanning the whole time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Beth, wonderfully said. take care.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful and positive way of looking and experiencing fall in its marvelous beauty..
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put....and I have to remember that each time I start to panic about the season that follows. Ugghhh...
ReplyDeleteit makes me want to sleep outside. bundled up, with a toque on.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth for the fizzy drinks and the rabbits in the sky. And your picture is fantastic, btw.

Well said, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you yesterday as I was taking oh-so-far-away photos of Harry the Heron, using my zoom to the max. Later this week I'll get some up, but want to mess with the color a bit -- the sun was in the wrong position, but they have potential!!!
love the photo Beth,
ReplyDeletethere is something about the light , and you are right , the mornings are gentle ... how perceptive.
That is nice, really provokative.
ReplyDeleteAfter a string of 100+ days, I am so looking forward to fall. Thank you for sharing the lovely pic and and even lovelier words.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a wonderful fall!
:-)
