a couple of things to make you smile....

this is one of our resident cottage squirrels
who likes to nibble on whatever we put in the bird feeders
~see his little stock pile in front of him~
and
because i think he's adorable
he gets away with it
~
last weekend
after he finished stuffing himself silly
he ran down the hill
and
literally threw himself onto the coolness that the top of the cement septic tank
offered him
and
just laid there
~
i was waiting for him to roll over
and
un-buckle his pants so he could rest his hand in waist band
and
close his eyes for the rest of the afternoon
but
he didn't
~
obviously
this is a squirrel with manners

and
if my squirrel didn't make you smile
without question
~
talk about an amazingly creative mom

  7. I love it... he just spreads out and takes it easy! My squirrels spend their time dodging the shih tzu's.

  10. He looks positively flattened with gluttony. My resident squirrels figured out the squirrel-proof Tom Torrens birdfeeder the very first day it was installed. Squirrel-proof, my a*s.

  12. Our squirrels do the same thing on the branches of our oak trees. I love it when they stretch all the way out on their tummies like that.

  21. A very clever squirrels indeed. I have never seen one sprawled out like that. They definitely like to help themselves to my bird food.

    What a cute Bookworm.

  22. I am not convinced she has manners - she may just be so exhausted from her invasion of the bird feeder and overindulging in a feeding spree that she is too tired to lift her head and must rest before the next adventure.

  23. Your little squirrel friend is so cute. A bit of a glutton maybe but you captured the personality exactly. I don't care what anyone says, they do have personalities.

  27. How sweet is the picture from your link!

We don't have squirrels in South Africa. Not a lot anyway and not the types like in the USA. We have Meerkats which you should look into because they are extremely inquisitive and have the most amazing personality.
