i want to be
two
~~
being
two
means napping in the afternoon
and
being asked why it wasn't longer
silly goose
::
spilling a bucket of dinosaurs all over the floor and laughing about it
::
feeding winnie the pooh "make believe" honey found in my coat pocket
throwing glitter filled egg shaped bouncy balls down the hardwood floor hallways
and
laughing hysterically while they bounce in crazy directions
::
wearing one flip flop
::
making your hands disappear behind your back
while saying
abra cadabra
dancing in sunglasses without caring who's watching or laughing
::
playing chutes and ladders
::
and
saying good-bye to a fly
while trying to understand why they're supposed to live outside
this was a very impromptu photo shoot with two year old twins
belonging to friends of my hubby
*
hopefully there will be a next time
outside
oh to be two....but even at 52 I seem to be doing all the same things...so LIFE IS GOOD!
ReplyDeleteJust to watch them brings such joy. Wonderful series of photos here!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, the world of two year olds. adorable shots!! so very sweet
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Your work is such an "upper"--I'm thanking our understanding Lord who guided me to your blog.
ReplyDeleteimpromptu is delightful ... I like that little band aid hiding on the finger
ReplyDeleteVery sweet shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures... and the questions you have asked are so childlike in their innocence
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful photos and words. Love the first "eyes windows to the soul" shot. I was about to say it's so sad that adults lose that pure innocence and wonderful way of viewing the world. But you still have it...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, they are so cute.......right now being 2 sounds absolutely wonderful...Hugs
ReplyDeleteToo cute...and double. What gets better than that?
ReplyDeleteLets not forget having cookies and not worrying about calories! Great pictures and what a fun day.
ReplyDeleteAdorable twins and great photos! Ah Yes ! To be two again....nah! I like where I am at! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHugs

I love how you describe being two. what a world filled with wonder. How sad that we lose that as we get older.
ReplyDeletehow about we create a "let's be 2" day?
ReplyDeleteand then we just play and let our hair down ;)
Wonderful photos and musings...when did life get so complicated? Kindergarten, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm in luv with these photos, but especially with the words. You really see/hear what's going on around you.
ReplyDeleteWas it your house where they were playing with the bouncy balls? To say they bounce in crazy directions is an understatement.
Did you ever get the honey out of your pocket?

ReplyDeleteWow, those are amazingly beautiful eyes. Beautiful shots Beth :-)
ReplyDeletep.s my typepad blog is gone, I have returned to blogger!
doubly cute...and those eyes!...Oh My!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing wrong with being two is that they don't know how good they've got it....great thought, and I love the sparkle you caught in the little guy's eyes...how DID you do it??
ReplyDeleteGreat portraits! But why do you want to be two? Do those things now, at your own age, and you'll appreciate them more :-)

Thank you, Beth.

"I wanna be 2 too"....she cried petulantly after she read this (she would even settle for 3 or 4 as long as a nap and bouncy ball were a part of the deal- the fly she could do without!)! Beautiful pics Beth!
ReplyDeleteOh why didn't think of this when I had Alex my friends kid over last saturday. Love to be two again and act silly and no one would say anything about it....I can tell you all had fun.
