I bought this skirt at a craft fair
and
I think it's the best thing since fingerless gloves
~
the girl making them
told us how she has all of her friends give her
what would be their "goodwill" donations
and
then she turns the old sweaters into winter skirts
and
the t-shirts get turned into summer skirts or bikini bottom cover ups
~
all of them have draw string waists
for basically
a perfect fit
~
oh
I hope you can sew
and
make some of these
~
AND
then there's this fabulous thingy over here
~I just ran to goodwill by the way so I can try this~
and
then
look in her store while you're on her blog
ummmm
did you see her fabulous fingerless gloves
~holy crap~
they look like my skirt and now I want those
~~
this is totally what happens to me this time of year
~~
and
~one more thing~
can you see the slightly crooked smile up top
well the braces are going back on sometime in january
because
the tooth that had to move the most the first time around
is being a little shit
and
not cooperating
and
if it were any other tooth than a front one
then
so be it
but
nooooo
it had to be smack dab in the middle of my face
arrghhhh
and
you might say what the heck is this crazy woman talking about
it looks just fine
but
what you see here is my half smile
at most
and
usually I smile with my whole face
and
well
it's bugging me
and
besides
I paid for straight teeth
*
that skirt is diiiiiii-vine. but woe is me, i don't have a sewing bone in my entire body......
ReplyDeletei love the skirt. adore it. it's fabulous. i'm going up to the attic to see what sweaters lurk there. immediately.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable skirt! I love patchwork-y cut up recycled clothes :D
ReplyDeletelove your skirt....but I don't sew! She has really creative ideas, love the scarf she made from sweaters. And your smile is beautiful but I know what you mean you paid for it so you should get what you want. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOkay Beth...give us the whole face smile NOW. so we can judge. You sure look fine to me. But I understand your feelings about it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that skirt. Can I purchase it by internet???I'm gonna check out her space. I'm a skirt and dress kind of girl too. See you around, croocked teeth girl...Okay this one was below the belt, don't mean it to be like this though, just teeee(th)zing.
That skirt is gorgeous! Oh, how I wish I could sew better! All I do right now are things with straight lines when I have to. Maybe after I have baby number 2 I can pick that skill up in all my spare time. ;o)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, love the turtleneck, too! It is so classic yet very chic.
you make me smile Beth...teeth and ALL blessings friend~elk
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt - not to mention that absolutely killer bod that is wearing it. Man, Beth, you are in amazing shape ! I bought myself the fingerless gloves earlier this fall from Katwise - she is soooo awesome !
ReplyDeleteNow, I know you paid for them, and if they are really bothering you and you are willing to go through the whole wearing braces thing again, go for it but you know what ? I think you are pretty damn perfect and definitely extremely beautiful Just The Way You Are.
I am just saying...
(Thank you so much for the beautiful hugs you sent me via snail mail - it made my heart smile really, really big !)
Happy Tuesday !
i want that skirt!! i love it. not going to happen, can't sew.
ReplyDeletewowowowow, that skirt is awesome! It's times like this I am so sad that my sewing machine hates me and won't let me sew on it. :( lol Good luck with the braces!
ReplyDeleteadorable! what a great find.
ReplyDeleteyou have a beautiful smile honey but i understand that you have to do what you have to do. you know?
i will be sure to check out the link too.
beautiful inside and out ... and funny to boot!
ReplyDelete1. LOVE your self portraits... if only I could be that BRAVE (yes, your turn).
ReplyDelete2. I so can't sew. BUT I need that scarf and will just oooo and ahhh at your fabulous skirt.
Love you... xoxox
i pretty much love that skirt. i want to make them for my littles now. maybe next week?
ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable skirt. I love the colors too. You dress how I like to dress. I love wearing turtlenecks, tights, leggings, skirts, boots, and gloves. Last night I was in K-Mart and I saw the cutest gloves ever. They are Joe Boxer 3 in 1 glove. You can wear them with fingers, fingerless or layered with different colors. They are so cute so I just had to buy me a couple of pair. I bought a short pair and a long pair. Maybe I'll post a pic of them sometime today.
ReplyDeleteI used to sew, but I haven't had my sewing machine out in quite awhile. I have no workspace for it, but that scarf idea sounds like a fun project.
Wow!
ReplyDeleteNot until I read these comments, did I realize this post was about clothing.
i've been saving old sweaters and such. maybe my daughter and i will make a skirt but I for sure want to make a cowl like the link you shared. thanks
ReplyDeletei think you have a gorgeous smile.
Love, Love, Love the skirt and the idea of recycling the old sweaters and shirts. Thanks for the sharing the site too.
ReplyDeleteYou must do what you must do ... but please know that I don't believe there's a person who knows you up close or from afar that sees any imperfections in your radiant smile!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Gorgeous skirt...you look fabulous in it too!! The colors are perfect for you and this time of year!! As for your crooked smile..didn't notice but if you paid for straight teeth...then go get 'em!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving
Hugs

Beth, Beth, Beth...it is a FABULOUS skirt, but you make it stunning! I LOVE IT, and yes, I sew, and YES I will try my hand at it! I already make shirts from t-shirts and purses from neckties...NOW I GOTTA DO THIS! I collect wool sweaters to felt and make Gypsy Cats, but now I gotta make skirts!! and I also adore Alisa...SHE ROCKS!!
ReplyDeleteFandabbydozy skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love this and it looks great on you!...just last year I bought a wonderful sweater from a small shop in town that specializes in recycling...it was made up of several different old salvaged sweaters much like your skirt...I will have to post a picture of it someday. The owner of the shop made it herself...now if I could only be as creative...
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the skirt. It looks great on you, but would look terrible on me. Enjoy it! Good luck with the teeth straightening.

ReplyDeleteyou know

Seriously, you look great in it. And, what the heck are you talking about with your teeth? You have a stunning smile, crazy woman.

ReplyDeleteAnd i hear you on the straight teeth. I finally got mine straightened for my 45th (46 and part of my 47th) birthday but my braces had to go back on for a while too. And I'm really glad I did it!
Hang in there.
xo
beth, they need to use you as their model, the skirts would be flying off the racks.

dass 10X better than
94% of people's full!
as long as you're lovin' life...
and you are!
This skirt looks GREAT on you -- I'm going to tackle one -- I have a carton full of old wool sweaters, just waiting to be made into something fabulous. I might start with a neck cowl for a warm-up though.....
ReplyDeleteOhmygosh! I am with everyone else here...LOVE that skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I knew how to sew, so that I could have completely original things that no one else has. I guess I could still learn?
