she's safe and sound and smiling in australia.

thank you steve jobs or whoever created face time at apple. it's similar to skype, but from apple to apple products. she's got her mini iPad, iphone and laptop there and we've got our laptops and iPhones here, so basically anytime we talk to her now, it's face to face and beyond wonderful. granted, we're working on getting used to the time change, occasionally counting on our fingers and adding in "but a day later" and laughing, but we've just about got it :)

Love your bee shot and am pleased to hear all is going well! The wonders of modern technology.
ReplyDeleteBeth, I missed your last three posts and the whole sweet girl going to Australia bit. I bet there were a few tears here and there. I agree with you; I will be nothing but smiles when the day comes that my daughter needs to be back home for a while (she's not gone yet; I'm just imagining!)
ReplyDeleteAll of your images in these posts are beautiful. You have a gorgeous family! I love the warmth that seems to exude from all of your photos. Pure happiness!
Yay! I know you are happy but will miss her oodles. You're right about communication tech -- it helps!
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is there and doing well and very glad you can visit whenever you wan to...Steve Jobs certainly helped us moms out when he invented the iPhone and all that goes with it. By the way, great shots and I love the Dr Seuss quote....
ReplyDeleteAS a mom myself, I felt the emotion of your words and totally understand the tears and lump in your throat. I'm glad to see your daughter is safe and sound in Australia. Tell your daughter to look for a sweet treat at the local bakery called Lamington's! They are delicious little cake squares coated in thin chocolate and then rolled in very fine coconut coating. My Australian boyfriend taught me how to make then 34 years ago!
ReplyDeleteLoved your family photos.
So happy she is safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteWhen Hubby went to Russia last month we tried FaceTime and it didn't work well for us. Lots of lapses and hesitations in the video. Oh well... maybe it was a poor Moscow connection or not enough band width on that end... So nice it worked for you! xox
set your "Dashboard" (Mac) clock to Australia time- that's how I kept track when Ben was in Japan...One stroke and at a glance I knew the time
