our weekend has been filled with windows wide open and pollen everywhere. am i complaining? absolutely not. pollen and i get along. snow is my enemy. we still seem to be in a very unbalanced weather pattern, which honestly is pissing me off. a few days of warmth and then wham, the cold air comes sneaking back in, forcing me to pull things out of my closet to wear that i should have burned as soon as all of our snow was gone. i.want.to.wear.my.summer.dresses.damnit.
we had to run downtown yesterday for a quick errand, only to find out {too late} that we were trapped in what i'm calling the graduation abyss. uw madison's graduation ceremonies were held yesterday, which means kids, families and cap and gowns where everywhere. how we managed to find a place to park is beyond me and getting back out of the
now sushi...let's talk about that for a second. i think you either love it or hate it, right? or are you like me and are somewhat in the middle? we only had rolls yesterday, which let me just say right now, "i can not fit a whole one of those puppies in my mouth and chew without choking," which hugely irritates me. i asked for the "chopsticks for dummies," but even with those, i was making a mess and ended up needing a fork as i had to cut them in half. but, you know what? i.didn't.care. besides, who really enjoys eating with chopsticks? balancing food and keeping an eye on it while trying to get it to your mouth is hard enough sometimes using a fork or a spoon, but two little sticks? give me a break.
anyone else love watching, "so you think you can dance."
lol, i love sushi and eating with chopsticks! to each his own, my guy prefers a spoon :)
ReplyDeleteNope don't love sushi...lol i'm not even on the fence....and i don't watch So you think you can dance...I get tired of all the competition shows ....Hope the days warm up for you soon! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI love watching SYTYCD. They are so incredibly bendy. I used to be bendy. I love sushi but I am inept with chopsticks. Forks are a much better invention. I think your sushi rolls were too wide. Sometimes I have to take two bites too and what a mess (but a yummy one). Chilly here today. Please don't be upset that I'm liking it.
ReplyDeleteMy toddler introduced me to sushi and I have liked it ever since. Note like, not love. It's hard to love a food which is so messy to eat, and which has tried to kill me twice. Advice: make sure it's made with fresh seaweed before you put the whole thing in your mouth. Or else you will end up choking in a most terrifying way.
ReplyDeleteSushi grosses me out.
ReplyDeleteI love sushi and can usually pop a whole slice into my mouth or sometimes will utilize one very determined bite to turn it into two. The slab of raw fish on top isn't my favorite, but I do love smoked salmon. I watched SYTYCD a few seasons ago and loved it. Melanie won that year. Remember her?
ReplyDeleteLove sushi - and I love the adorable puppy! I am more of a Dancing with the Starts gal myself!
ReplyDeleteLOVE sushi, but I ask for napkins and use my fingers. Much easier. We went out on Friday evening for sushi, oh yummm! Our weather is the same, one day summer, one day brrrr! Love finding building such as the one in your second photo. What fun to photograph!
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence about sushi...kind of picky about the type and where I get it...but I love both of your photos!! What a precious puppy!! And I'm always a sucker for old houses.
ReplyDeleteLove love love sushi!
ReplyDeleteLove the challenge of chopsticks. I think a few million Chinese love 'em too. ;)
But isn't it great that we all live in choice?
SYTYCD is my favorite show ever!!!!! Love to live the dancers life vicariously through those talented young people! Artists all!
Happy Monday, sweetie! Lets bring on the warm!!!
I like California rolls and that's as far as my sushi experience goes. Forks were invented for good reason and has remained popular. Why go back to sticks? You can have all our warm weather you want, I'm sick of it already. We were up to 90 yesterday. Ugh!
ReplyDeletenot a big fan of sushi, and i have a hard enough time with a fork, so forget about chopsticks! the university here just had their commencement ceremonies last weekend, and we avoided the campus like the plague, but now the students are all gone, and the town is wonderfully peaceful again. so nice to be able to find a parking place downtown again. ; )
ReplyDeleteOh, grandpuppy looks adorable! I do like sushi -- I'd be in trouble if I didn't, given Rick's Japanese thing. But you're right about the size of them! And I'm careful of sashimi -- the sushi with raw fish) unless I'm in a sea town or a very big city/restaurant that can afford the fresh!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a sushi girl.. nooo.. the only thing that I can sorta do is vegetable roll, which is no fish whatsoever. And those rolls are not easy to bite into without making a mess, and really too big to jam in your mouth all at once.
ReplyDeleteLove that pup!
Very adorable pup photo!
ReplyDeletethat dog... that dog has stolen my heart!
ReplyDeleteyou are very lucky to live in a place with changing seasons. its not as fun as it sounds when you have to live in 30C weather all day, everyday. Trust me.
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi, Sorry to hear you're in pain my friend. Hope things are fine (by now). I've been 'out' myself for quite some time now and trying to find a new path to walk on.
ReplyDeleteBut it's great to be back and read all your stories again.
Wonderful hugs and talk soon.
Dagmar
ps it's seems the weather is acting up on us around the world (I thought I was the only one feeling bad about the yukkie weather out here).
Graduation and traffic are so bad...Glad you made it! I dont like sushi
ReplyDeleteOh that lovely stone house!
ReplyDeleteThis weather has been hard to dress for...HATE figuring it out new each day.
I empathize on the weather thing. :( It's actually been muggy hear the last couple of days. But we're heading down about 25 degrees cooler for Friday. Weird weather indeed.
ReplyDeleteAbyss: That's my word for that space between my front seats and the middle console in my car. If you drop something in there, it's pretty much gone -- definitely while you're driving. Unless you pull some acrobatic moves and muscle the seats forward and backward for about a half hour after stopping the car and doing a handstand, butt in the air, onlookers wondering ...
I don't like chopsticks, so I'm good with not caring much for sushi.
Rarely watch TV.
Wow. I'm woefully boring.
