i bought some cuties to eat and ended up playing with them instead. somehow when you're a photographer, "don't play with your food" no longer seems to make any sense whatsoever.

right now, my hubby is fifty and our daughter is twenty five. according to them, as i have yet to do the math, there will never be another time when she will be exactly half his age. for example, next year she'll be twenty six and he'll be fifty one {not half} and when she's thirty, he'll be fifty five {still not half}....see where i'm going with this? i think they're right.

when we were in the hospital with our son two weeks ago, the nurses used purell as easily and as often as they were breathing. i mean constantly. so we followed their lead and used it constantly, too. heck, i wouldn't even touch the thermostat in his room without cleaning up afterwards. now when i'm out, touching a door, a shopping cart handle, well, basically anything...i've become a bigger germ-a-phobe than i ever used to be. are you a germ-a-phobe, especially this time of year?

guess what? i think i have it all figured out...how to give you a real life video of me doing something. well, wait. that sounded kind of dirty didn't it? what i mean, is that some of you asked me to show you how to clone in picmonkey, instead of talking about it, and by george i think i've got it. so, if all goes well, there will be a cloning video on friday. keep your excitement under control....snort.

oh, one last thing...this will make you smile.
oh, one last thing...this will make you smile.
Ok. I'm excited. And hey - I never touch door handles if I can help it. I always use my clothing (putting my hand in my coat or sweater pocket), never touch elevator buttons either. I don't think I'm a real germ a phobe per se. Do you?!!
ReplyDeleteI think I am a germ a phobe and have been for a while. I use Purell a lot, I never use pens in stores (ewww), I wipe down carts, and I rarely get sick....so I'm thinking it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteKeep your excitement under control she says...Easier said than done sweet friend, you,in a video taking about pic monkey.. and you want me to stay calm? ;-)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait...
seriously...
I.can.not.wait.
I want you to sing Bruno Mars on the video... hee......that kid is adorable. And so are you...looking forward to the video! I'm no someone who thinks about germs but do use the hand sanitizers when I go in a hospital, doctor's office etc. Kids...runny noses...touching stuff. Nuff said! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your video!!! Woo Hoo. And I hate touching door handles and shopping cart handles...ugh...hard not to do though!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the video! Thank you! Oh, I'm a total germ-a-phobe this year. Thanks to the flu, I've been subbing almost every day...in classrooms where the teachers came to work sick! Not to mention all the germs kids toss around. Somehow (knocking on wood frantically!) I've managed to stay well.
ReplyDeleteOk, I've been sitting here doing Math for the last 15 minutes.....thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteAnd purell, yeah we have it on the boat...because if one guy gets the flu, we all get it.
now THAT's a cutie!...
ReplyDeleteand yeah.. They'll always be twenty five years apart. RIght now is the only time that will make sense saying one is half the other's age. I hate math, and I got it right away!... huh, go figure.
adorable .. got me all fa-klempt ... not sure why
ReplyDeletecloning .. i love to clone .. i have two maybe 3 apps on my imac where i can clone but its easier on pic monkey .... soooo glad those picnikers returned with pic monkey
by the way ... purell is good but washing your hands is better ...
ReplyDeleteLove cuties ! So sweet !
ReplyDeleteHate purell ! I used it a lot when I was subbing at the schools, and I swear it made me more vulnerable to a lot of germs. Hand washing is much better, I think ! With regular soap - not antibacterial.
Can't wait to see a video of you doing anything !
4 year olds rock !
Happy Thursday, Gorgeous !
I'm a germaphobe but I can't over wash my hands because it aggravates my eczema. I have heard that using antibacterial soaps and gels kills the good bacteria too, not giving our body a chance to develop a resistance.
ReplyDeleteYIKES... I am afraid that I am not a germ-a-phobe at all. I wash my hands, but no obsessively. I use door handles other people have touched. I even use the shopping cart and the grocery store without using a wipey. I'm one of those crazy people who think what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Can't wait to see your video on Picmonkey..
ReplyDeleteBTW - Love your photo of the little cutie..
Hugs~
There is a terrific article in (I think) the most recent New Yorker about the innovation of Purell (by the Gojo people who make that awesome soap that can actually remove Golden acrylics from your hands!). It's well worth the read -- pretty fascinating about how it evolved and took market share, fighting for shelf space with companies like Proctor and Gamble. They talk results there and it does make a diff. I never used to be so concerned, but with all my infections, I have a thing on my desk and use it frequently. (When I was in Paris and didn't have it except as a little clumsy bottle, I had a pair of gloves I put on every time I went down the subway to hang onto the rail!)
ReplyDeletePlease read up on using those hand sanitizers. I did and was surprised by what I found. While hospitals HAVE to and should, as deadly bacteria exist there, the average person in their own home may be creating a cycle of destroying all the good germs we carry that ward off the bad, when a good old soap washing is effective and less harmful to the skin. Keeping your hands from your mouth and eyes when not recently cleansed is also wise. I do use them occasionally now when it is my only option but my friend who is Purell addicted and "purells" her kids dozens of times a day has not had everyone healthy all at the same time in her home for over a year. Just a thought....I was appraised of this information and studies via the Director of Nursing at a hospital where I volunteered.
ReplyDeleteOur grandmothers were right.."WASH your hands!" hehe
We don't sanitize here, but we DO eat lots of cuties!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we watched this kid on Ellen. Love her show.
ReplyDeleteFunny but lately I have been working out at the gym
and I keep reminding myself not to touch my face after
I touch the workout equipment and then I rush and wash
my hands really good after the workout. I use to never
think of doing that. I also remember you telling me not
to put my purse on the table because it had been on the floor,
I think of that all the time now. When traveling purell is
in my bag. And I didn't think I was concerned about germs.
That little guy is precious!
ReplyDeleteI love the pure, unhinged confidence that little kids possess.
