wednesday night i met a girlfriend for dinner. we hadn't seen each other in thirty years.
{note to self: don't wait thirty years to catch-up with anyone. ever.}
we spent four hours talking and barely eating. it was wonderful.
~
i tried watching the debate last night, but i just couldn't do it. is that bad ?
i bought some halloween candy and already started eating it. is that bad ?
~
for those of you who read and recommended "the language of flowers," thank you.
for those of you who haven't read it yet, oh i hope you do. it was wonderful.

yesterday
10-11-12
would have been a great day to get married or have a baby. just saying.

in case you're wondering about my photos...don't ever look directly into the sun when you're shooting. instead, just take your camera and point in the direction of the sun, while turning your head the other way. that way you won't burn the pupil of your shooting eye and when you get home, you'll have "surprise" photos, which kind of feels like christmas when you open them on your computer.
now granted, lightroom was used to make the sepia color, but the sun itself played a huge role.

what? it's friday already?
well in that case, have an amazing-love filled weekend.
i know that's what i'll be doing.

Whatever you do this weekend, we know it won't be "bad"! xo
ReplyDeletegorgeous pictures....have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, not watching the "debates" is an example of a Very Good Thing...have a stress-free weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!! I love that the first shot...that sunflare is gaaaaawgeous....
ReplyDeleteI have a friend I haven't seen in 10+ years and she keeps emailing me to call her and "catch up". I cannot call because I hate to talk on the phone and I know how long the phone call will last. Is that bad? LOL Now, in person visiting would be much more preferable. Glad you were able to spend that time with your friend.
ReplyDeleteYour shots have a magical quality. I'll have to try that technique sometime!
10-11-12 was a great day for me because my Canon 5D MK II arrived! Guess what I'll be doing today? Hee!
If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad, apparently. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your sweet weekend, Beautiful Bethie !
The Halloween candy thing? Not bad at all. I make a point of buying candy early just so that I can enjoy it pre: Halloween night. You can always buy more!
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all:)
ReplyDeleteLove these overexposed photos! They just work! Not bad at all indeed!
Have a totally not bad weekend:)
No... it's all good :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you loved Language of Flowers. I'm ready a really interesting/beautiful book now that debi told me about: When Women Were Birds...
Add I am in love with your first photo, just gorgeous!
Enjoy your love-filled weekend! xo
No. It is not bad.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try this, Beth. Love all the interesting white space here today.
ReplyDeletei love your sun-surprise photos (and the pumpkins in the last post, oh, the pumpkins!)
ReplyDeletep.s. (i haven't watched the debates. so my vote is, no, it's not bad! and a little early halloween candy is good for the soul. well, maybe that's taking it a little too far, but still it must be good for something, right?)
p.p.s. congratulations to your daughter on her terrific accomplishment!
I'm glad you liked the book - one of my favorites in 2011. Reading another wonderful one now but won't tell until I'm finished. Stop eating the candy - ok, a piece or 2 won't hurt. I love the flower shot.
ReplyDeleteCool shots - gotta try them!
ReplyDeleteAnd um, NO it's not bad to not watch the debate. I didn't watch it either!!
That first photo is stunning. At first I wasn't sure it was there, but it was and it delighted me. So happy you enjoyed The Language of Flowers, I did too. Well I must admit I did buy some candy corn and have nibbled a bit, but no trick-or-treat candy here yet because that would be just too much temptation. So no you are not bad. And I wish I hadn't watched the debate.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun, happy, nice post! I hope your weekend is as nice as planned. In this rain and cold I'm heading off to meet a friend about an hour away and then back to cuddle and be cozy. And yes, that would be a great day for a wedding!
ReplyDeleteWe're bad together, then because I didn't watch either and I am eating the mini kit kats.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to reconnect with an old friend!
Just connected with a friend via phone that I haven't seen/spoken with for almost 30 years. What a treat!
ReplyDeleteI watched the debate ... can't say you missed anything.
I always wonder how to take those sun filled photograph, and now thanks to you Beth I wonder no more xo
ReplyDeletei don't watch anything political because i have this overwhelming urge to smack the liars
ReplyDeleteLove the shots - are you worried about burning up your sensor? I agree - don't wait 30 years to get together with someone, but don't think that's too long, either. It's never too late! And for sure, start eating the candy!! I didn't watch the debate either but I think I'll watch the one this week.
ReplyDeletethanks for the advice about the sun! slow thinking me wondered how to get wonderful shots like yours.
