of all the photos of violets i took in the woods, where the nasty deer tick lived that bit me and left me with a bullseye on my leg along with a degree of panic in my head, due to the fact that i rarely stop thinking about good things like fairies and bad things like "i'm going to die from a tick bite,"
this is really the only one i even like.

Oh gosh... sorry to hear about the tick bite. Those nasty little boogers are everywhere, and the fact that we had such a warm winter doesn't help either.
ReplyDeleteI like your pretty little violet. Thanks for sharing.
i like it too, but i hate that you got bitten by a deer tick! i'm glad you found it within that 24 hr window!
ReplyDeleteThe price we photographers are willing to pay to get some shots!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you didn't get a few more that you liked. Look at them again next month. Maybe you'll change your mind about a few of them.
Is it any better today? The photo is gorgeous of course... but a little on the costly side :) Thinking of you! Go back to fairy dreams!
ReplyDeletei saw a headline in my hometown Wis. paper on-line today about ticks already in Wis woods - thought of you...
ReplyDeleteHoping your tick bite will only be a bad memory very soon. Thinking of you, take it easy girl. xo
ReplyDeleteThose are the breaks sometimes, right? Regardless, it sure is a nice little photo. Lovely bokeh ~
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you got bit and so soon in the season, I'll be a bit more careful. I tend to forget and will lie down in the middle of the woods to get just the right shot!? And what a bummer to not come back with a boat load of beautiful captures, but this one is precious, and I love the shot of the ball in the box? :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it is a beautiful photo...
ReplyDeletebut still... stupid deer ticks...
After all that? I agree, it is a beautiful photo and it will always have "special" meaning to you! Hope the leg is feeling better today! xo
ReplyDeletethis may be the only one you really even like but my guess is there are a bunch of good ones in there.... you great photographers are always too hard on yourselves....
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better now. The sunny side of it, you managed to freeze this simple flower in time. It's a beautiful pic ... kudos!
ReplyDeleteAh, that's just not right! But it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteBummer ... a high price to be paid!
ReplyDeleteWhat purpose does a tic serve anyhow? I mean really. I could live without them for sure.
ReplyDeleteHere is what I take from the photo.
ReplyDeleteThe power of very small things.
We must pay attention :D

A beautiful picture of a wood anemone...I will have to go out and see if the ones in our woods have blossomed! Hope your bite is better:)
ReplyDeletewell, you can dress properly and go get some more pix .. one tick bite, however, is quite enough ... I'm like you I would worry myself into a frenzy
ReplyDeleteThis one is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a tick-free, fairy filled weekend, Sweet One !
I love ya !
Holy cow, a tick bite already??? I guess my Vet did tell me two weeks ago the ticks are out. Guess this early spring isn't good in many ways. I'm sure you are now on antibiotics for two-weeks.
ReplyDeleteWow, you all in southern WI are at least 2 weeks ahead of us here in the north....no violets or blood root yet in the woods. Oh wait, I did see the start of a dandelion plant emerging from the ground!
And it is beautiful! I do hope the deer tick bite is healing and that you are just fine!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot! I'm so sorry to hear about the tick. I hope you are feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteoh that IS a wonderful shot
ReplyDeleteand I hope the fairy memories
are sweet enough,
the antibiotics gentle enough
and the mending swift enough.
Sending love and light,
Jennifer
The big thing is did you get the tick out? Good vibes to you. (No wonder you're in a funk, between this post and the last!)
