today
you're twenty four
~
honestly, i'm not sure where the years have gone.
i tell new parents i meet today to enjoy every moment. sharing with them that time truly will fly by and they'll blink their eyes one morning and all of a sudden their baby will be living on their own.
in return, they look at me like i'm crazy.
~
you have grown up into such an amazing woman.
your head is on so straight. your values are wonderful and you have impeccable manners.
{not including the burping and farting which seems to be a disease in our family}
you treat people with respect
and
your handshake is firm.
but most importantly,
you know how to make us laugh and how to love with all your heart.
~
happy birthday sweet girl
you are loved more then you'll ever know
*
i know you were probably waiting for something really cool here for your birthday
but, ummm, we just didn't coordinate the way we did two years ago.
so just in case you forgot how cool your parents and little brother are, here's
a reminder for what we did pull off for your twenty second birthday.
i LOVED that 22nd birthday post!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with my first child, my mother-in-law told me that I needed to savor every moment of his childhood because it would be gone in the blink of an eye. And so I did. I took days off of work to stay home and build forts with my boys, when there really wasn't any reason to be in work that day. I did lots of things like that and believed that the best thing that you could spend on your child was your time. Not money. Your time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your beautiful daughter on her birthday ~
Happy Birthday, Lovely Girl !
ReplyDeleteBeth, Your love shows in both this post and the one for your beautiful daughter's 22nd birthday. How fast they grow, indeed. It reminded me to enjoy every single minute :-)
ReplyDeleteOh that is lovely, and the 22nd birthday is very cool.
ReplyDeleteI also keep telling new moms to savor All the moments because before you can blink an eye, they are grown and gone...they just give me a strange look.
What a neat idea for her 22nd birthday! Cute photo!!
ReplyDeleteso true, how fast they grow
ReplyDeleteand where did time go?
and did we really change as much
as they have?
and she is a beauty
and don't forget to pat yourself
on the back,
Mom,
cause it wasn't all sweetness
and you worked awfully hard
(rewarding work, but work still)
and you made an enormous difference
and your fingerprints are all over
that beautiful soul
and you should celebrate just a little
yourself
because somehow our hearts
keep giving birth
over and over again
no matter how old they get.
well done, you.
-Jennifer
What a beautiful way to honor and celebrate your girl's birthday. I know exactly how it is that they grow so fast - mine too - is now 22!!!
ReplyDeleteThe 22nd was a special post, but this one is too. That is because each birthday wish no matter what the age is special. Happy Birthday to your daughter and I do hope she celebrates her full month, but then moves over for me to celebrate the next month - that one is mine. Smiling!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your baby girl. It is amazing how fast the time goes, isn't it? She's precious, by the way!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect post. I DOES go by fast...and you should be really proud of such a lovely young woman...burps, farts and all! : )
