my daughter's right....

after LR 3

last night my daughter told me i was being a blog slacker.
she's right. i have been slacking a bit. so sorry.
~
instead of blogging
i've been playing with LR3 and i have to tell you something.
i'm in love and i'm pretty sure the feelings are mutual.

sooc

after LR 3

sooc

if you're even a little bit like i was
{too often banging your head against the wall while using photoshop}
give lightroom a try
~
i don't believe for one second that you'll be disappointed.
instead, i think you'll be wondering what took you so long.
~
chances are
if you hate your photos and fall in love with other people's photos
they've been edited
~
so
if you've been thinking, "i really need to edit my photos"
start with LR3. don't start with photoshop.
believe me
i'm saving you days, maybe weeks of headaches.
~
you're welcome

Seriously? That tire swing was found just like that in a fabulous tree on the edge of a field? Too dreamy! Esp. after LR3. Wow.

  5. Miss your voice in Blogland but oh so glad you are having fun !

My laptop is having some big booboos because of too many photos being stored on it. I have had some experience in letting go this weekend and also in backing up. Good lessons !

    Sending you fun-loving hugs !

  12. I have been finding it hard to do two things at once...if I am taking a class I can't keep up with the blog...we do what we can! I absolutely love what you are doing with lightroom...it probably has a lot to do with your talent as well as the program:)

  13. wow! the LR3 really made the colors more distinct and seems thing sharper! that being said, I do not want to take even on ounce of credit away from your incredible talent. The talent it takes to know how to edit photos to make the "pop" and the talent to compose a shot in the first place for its content and the right light. So just b/c there is a "wow" with the after LR3 shots, that doesn't mean I think any moron can make good photos...b/c this moron can't! And yes, ditto what someone else said.... how dreamy with that tire swing!!!

  18. If my photography could look anything as amazing as yours then LR3 it is. I use photoshop only for my digital artwork and have never done anything with my photos. So now I know!! xo

  20. I'm one of those crazy people who are devoted to Photoshop. I've had about every second version of the full Adobe package for about 22 years - work related (primarily for Adobe Illustrator). Since I already have PS.. it was the one I needed to learn when it came time to play with a few images here and there. I don't like processing my shots too much.. crop, sharpen.. add a touch of vibrant pop and I'm usualy good to go. It works for me but.. you never know. Thanks for the tip and keep on having fun.

  21. i don't think you're a blog slacker, but i DO love these photos more after you've tweaked them with LR 3. (although i have to say i kind of miss that neat light over the water in the beach shot.)

  23. I am still loving LR too!!! And now it's on sale for $149, after I just paid $199. So everyone run and buy it because I agree it's so very very good.

Ok, gotta run....back to my photos:-)

  24. I keep debating whether to jump into LR ... having so much fun with what Aperture provides and then Topaz and a few other programs. But you make it sound so easy. I may just have to make the jump!
Hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving day Beth!

  25. I started out in LR2 at the recommendation of a graphic artist/photographer and still use it. If I need to add a texture or do something more robust to my photo I export it to PS directly from LR where it creates a duplicate. After my PS edits are made I hit Save and it is saved in the LR tray right beside the original. One of the perks of LR is that your original image is never altered. You can always clear all your edits in LR and get back to the original. You made a good choice and your edits are amazing!! Have fun with it.

  26. You know I agree! I haven't played with it much on anything but portraits, but seeing these makes me want to throw the last ones from my walk in there and start playing. Beautiful!

  27. I wish you'd told me that last year! You're photos are looking great. I may have to make a switch. Laurie

  28. I'll let you do it for now okay?

    Stunning and then some.

I imagine your eye is key. Without a doubt.

  29. Oh yeah, couple Lightroom with some MCP Presets and Nik software and you will be completely hooked!!!!

    Beautiful...

  30. First of all, you're not the slacker I am. So behind reading, writing, everything. SO, don't hit yourself on the head with that one.

Second, I think it's WONDERFUL your daughter is finding you a blog slacker! Works for me!

    Third, thanks for the tips!
