maybe you're never too old to learn a new trick
~
i'm learning lightroom and loving it
or
maybe it's loving me
~
you see
i never had a love relationship with photoshop
nope
no love or lust
with mr. pse
no matter how i looked at him
instead it's always been a rather cold relationship filled with holes and too many questions
that's just never felt quite right
but
with light room
the feeling is
warm and understanding
~
now granted
i'm only at the beginning
but it's a beginning that's making sense
~
so here's my advice to you on this gorgeous sun filled friday
"learn something new...it's so good for your love life and your heart."
*
the happiest of weekends to each and everyone of you

I use photoshop but know I'm only using a fraction of what it's capable of . . . never tried lightroom but I might have to.
ReplyDeletelearning something new is indeed good for my heart. Nice photos. I have PSE, but haven't learned much yet, is lightroom a freebie?
ReplyDeleteI never got comfortable with PSE either, so I recently got Lightroom and it's making more sense to me. And the instructions on Adobe's site are pretty easy to follow.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos:-)
I've downloaded the trial of Lightroom but not having as much luck with my photos as you. Still... I didn't like pse at all!!
ReplyDeleteLightroom is pretty great - glad you're enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to download the 30 day free trial this afternoon to edit my first-ever photo shoot pics. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos and message!
ReplyDeleteps I am giving away custom business cards. stop by if you can!

Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteExactly the path I am on...Beautiful photographs Beth, light room's love for you is already showing and it's very nice :-)
ReplyDeleteLove what you do to your photos.
ReplyDeleteI've always used some form of photoshop at the moment it's elements 9 and I love it, but I've never tried lightroom...another one to try maybe..!
ReplyDeleteLizzie
Would you believe - I tried Lightroom and was lost? I know; I am pitiful. I don't know 80% of what PS does, but I feel at home there.
ReplyDeleteAnd that first photo? Wow! Beautiful light and tones. Gawjus!
OMG...I LOVE LOVE LOVE lightroom. Ohhhh...it's going to be a beautiful relationship!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at iPad apps recently because I was thinking I want to learn something new. So, I downloaded a game that teaches the shapes of the states and makes you learn facts about them.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm sure I must have done this in grade school, but somehow it didn't stick.
So, it's not as cool as your new learning, but I suppose it's a start. Have a great weekend, Beth!
I am taking a class in basic Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign right now and all I can say is it is giving my brain some exercise!
ReplyDeleteI love lightroom! And it is loving you! Those are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful baby shots!
ReplyDeleteGorgeousness!!!!! Wow! Lighting room is a good friend for you- it helps you shine even brighter!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, my lovely!
I have much to learn with the camera and I thank you for writing to me of the settings. I haven't had time to do what you suggested, but I will make time this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes...you have a lovely way with the light in your photos. They tell a story without words.
beth,
ReplyDeleteyour advice is graciously received...enjoy the newness...I will meet you there.
-xok.
I am so happy you and Lightroom (or LR as it allows friends to call it) are getting along!! I love LR it just makes sense to me...

I'm all for improving my love life, that's for sure, Beth!
ReplyDeletehow do you DO that, beth? go from great to AMAZING - wow, those pics are gorgeous!!!! you are wonderful. xo
ReplyDeleteI needed that!
ReplyDeleteYes, I needed the gentle nudge
to open up
to wrapping my tired sore brain
around a tricky wicket
and sorting it out.
Thanks, friend:)

As you know, I've been a bad visitor -- as I told someone, if I didn't have pre-post, I wouldn't be in blogland at all. So, I've been catching up on your fall post and the marathon and oh, those glorious Halloween posters (poor Sophie) and snapshot and am so excited you are getting your groove back, at least with your camera, if that writer's block is still there!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling well and every day is sparking a bit!
Y'know - I've been wanting to play with lightroom for awhile. You're definitely inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it.... I'd never be able to put that sweet baby down long enough to take any pictures!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as always.
Hope you're feeling great.

Oh Beth, these images are so beautiful!! Those precious little hands!
ReplyDeleteLightroom is a total mystery to me. Is it editing software like photoshop? I never saw the need for it because I have always used photoshop...but now I am starting to wonder...am I missing something truly magnificent? Could you clear my head fog around this and tell me what it is all about? I've always wondered.
Just catching up from being gone ... some awesome photos you have taken of babies lately! And me too ... I've been staying away from photoshop ... someday though!
ReplyDeleteOH MY....that last photo is priceless!!!
ReplyDeletewell, i am in love with these photos, it looks like you and mr. lightroom are a perfect match!
ReplyDeletei need to learn something new. if i did not have photoshop, i would definitely try lightroom. i may anyway. what a cutie. isaac said he's jealous that you are taking photos of some other little guy... he's feelin replaced. =)
ReplyDeletewhat a sweetie!
Beth you always manage to capture the most alluring and sweet shots of children. These are no exception. If this is what lightroom can do with what your eye has already captured...I'm more than impressed. And somehow I am not surprised that you are not a fan of photoshop!
