you can call me a pawn star....

{sneak peek from monday's photo shoot}

did you think i forgot about the red tutu. i didn't. it's actually in a box right now on its way to the meri. she won the drawing. i narrowed the names down to a small group of women who all have birthdays coming up soon and next month, meri is going to be doing whatever she wants to do on her birthday,
in a red tutu. i can't wait.
~
the prayers from yesterday were amazing and i'll be passing them on to my friends. actually, all of you visiting me here as often as you do are amazing. so if you didn't already know that.
well hear this. YOU ARE.
~
i was in the camera shop yesterday. that's a dangerous place to be. i walked out of there as fast as i could, but the new camera i was looking at continued to stare at me. i glanced back in the window once i made it safely outside, and i think i saw it shed a tear. i'm pretty sure it wanted to go home with me.
~
i have a 14kt gold necklace that i haven't worn for years that has been living in our safe in the basement. today i'm going to see about trading it in. you know. the whole "cash for gold" thing.
have any of you done this.
~
is it just me. or are there smidgens of fall quietly tiptoeing their way into what i'm still calling summer.
winter boots at the shoe stores. holiday decorations at michaels.
the leaves just starting to turn. the cooler nights {no complaints on that one}
oh mother nature. please take it slowly.
pleeeaaaaasssse
{sorry about the whiney voice}

  2. I could be so tempted to do the same thing. Why do we need gold things when we can have a new gorgeous camera.

    Congratulations to meri, I hope she post a picture of dancing in the red tutu. I loved visiting her blog.

    Now hold off of fall for a little longer, we are just beginning summer here in Oregon. But I am acknowledging it is on it's way, just give us a little time to celebrate in the sunshine - please.

  3. Definitely autumn tip toeing around here. We get a breeze in the evenings that definitely signals a change - much too early!

  6. I managed to drop my 70-300mm lens a few months ago and I'd been trying to tell myself that the crappy photos I was getting was because of my poor photography skills and not something to do with the lens. Well after it kept flashing an error message at me I realized that the lens was done for so I've just had to order a new one (ouch). I've been so excited to so some of the leaves starting to change color around our home. Yay, bring on Fall.

  7. now see - you're making me feel whiney about that hint of fall in the air that i won't be feeling until about NOVEMBER :(

    i was thinking yesterday that i really really really want to see some fall, this year. who knows? maybe i will.

    as for a gold necklace vs. a camera - GO FOR IT!

    and HURRAH for meri! i can just see her dancing in that red tutu :)

  9. Love the humongous smiles, priceless...and the wagon!

    Yep, traded old gold for cash. Totally worth it! Do it!

    Yep, noticed the temps are slowly dropping, especially at night here. I love the in between, maybe even more than my favorite seasons.

  10. Old gold for cash, if it gets you your camera, definately. does no good sitting in a box.

  11. Oh the photo is so sweet. I do love what you photograph. Wow. and What camera are you looking at. There is a new one close to me too and I promised not to walk into for now. For now might not last long.

  12. Well, it's 105 degrees here and Hobby Lobby has been stocked with Christmas decorations since last month. Fully stocked. :/ I am so ready for fall I can hardly wait. The only sign I've seen is that it is getting darker at 8:30 rather than 8:45PM.

    I have not done the cash for gold thing, but that new camera sounds like it might be worth the effort. Keep us posted!

  13. Congratulations to meri, looking forward to her red tutu Birthday photographs ;-)
    Fall can not be almost there, no matter what the stores are displaying in their windows. Summer only started about two weeks ago here...Call me needy but I am not ready to let go yet.

  15. I'm seeing the smidgens of fall. I don't know if I'm happy or sad about it this year.

    I traded in my 1980's herringbone and tacky gold stuff that I never wear, and got $900. for the lot. Overjoyed!... It was stuff I'd never wear again anyway.
