somebody could have told me to fix my bangs....

here we are. three sisters. the girls.
who given the choice, would rather take photos then be photographed.
wait. maybe that's just me.
~
if you remember, from just a few posts back, my older sister flew in from the east coast to surprise my  mom for her 70th birthday. we haven't all been together for a year and to say we all had a great time would be lying. we had a terrific time.

i know mom and dad will love the black and white photo of us. personally though, i love this photo.
i love the fact that mom probably told us to put our hoods up and even tied the strings for us, but me, being the little rebel that i am....well, no hood for me.
~
actually wait. i'm not even sure the hoodies are matching. i'm not even sure i have a hood on now that i'm looking at this photo closely.
wait a minute.
did mom only buy matching hoodies for my sisters and not one for me.
okay.
now i have some investigating to do.

sorry for the interruption. don't you love a tiger lily.
especially a wild one from a field of wild ones.

and
a butterfly

and
a fresh out of the womb cattail

okay
back to the family. so maybe mom didn't buy me a matching hoodie, but i think she loves me best.
just look at the way she's hugging me.

look at them. aren't they cute.
does the one on the left look guilty to you.
i think she does.
now i know why. don't worry mom. the fact that you didn't buy me a matching hoodie will not be held against you. after all. i am a adult. but seriously, did you think i wouldn't notice that my hoodie has white strings and theirs have red strings.
gosh it's a good thing i have grown up and learned not take things like this personally.
sniff.
~
{you know i love you mom and if my sweatshirt was different, it's probably because i threw a fit and said i didn't one to match theirs in the first place. little miss independent rebel that i am}

oh
and
here's a pretty wild flower to end my post with.
why. well, because it's tuesday and it feels like monday and i'm a bit discombobulated and will forever be screwed up this week. that's why.

  2. Cracking up laughing! SO true...I'm the youngest and the only girl but I was never spoiled because really, the family was complete after two kids and because I was the girl, I took care(and often still do) of my two older brothers and Mom likes them best. Your Mom is hugging you because you are her favorite which is why when there weren't anymore of those hoodies left, she went to 6 stores just to find you a red one so you wouldn't feel left out. Yepperroo. I'd bet on it. Ask her. I dare ya. xox

  3. Fun post, loved seeing you with your family.

Living overseas away from my family makes we realize just how precious those moments together are.

  4. Oh no...I thought I was the only one with a mom who bought matching clothes..My sister and I had everything matching, and I would bet that we even had matching hoodies too. It looks to me like you had a hood too ;0

  5. For years my grandparents bought matching dresses for my sister and I that we wore on the first day of school. Great pictures and I am so glad your reunion was fabulous!

  6. Beth you totally crack me up!!! You sound like my sister!! Only once we had matching anything and they were dresses given to us by our aunt. Mine was orange and her's was lime green and they both had a layer of chiffon over top. I'll always remember the day my sister went running down the street, having pulled on a loose thread and all that chiffon came off, floating behind her. I wish I had been old enough to have had a camera to capture it. Thanks for the memory. Family time is always so memorable!!! xo (P.S. no one told you about the bangs for the same reason you got the mismatched hoodie!!!! lol!!!)

  8. Beth you are too funny. I have two sisters too, and being the middle child, I got hammy downs, and I was never spoiled like my siblings. But I too think I was the favorite;) And you made me laugh when you made that comment. We all know a Mother has no favorites, but Shhhh...., don't tell my sisters. I am so glad your Mother had a special Birthday, your Father did good <3

  22. i know, i find it annoying when photographers or ppl around me know that there's a big chunk of hair sticking out wrong or that my collar isn't fixed right. little things like that annoy me, too.

and i think i like your white string hooodie better. whenever we have sister photos... i swear... my sisters make me change... maybe b/c i'm toooo odd-ball. but i like it. and it's ok.. the photos are for them n my parents anyway.

  24. I think your mom should send you all matching hoodies now, just because you noticed. My mother would never buy my sister and I those big boxes of crayons that had the sharpener in the back of the box? .... and we reminded her of that fact one too many times. So you know what we got a few years back for Christmas? Yep.. sharpener and all :)

I love your sense of humor...I was going to say you crack me up when I realized that everyone else said the same thing:)

  28. I think maybe you pulled your red string out and it had to be replaced with a long white shoestring. And mom is hugging you so you will feel better about it.

  32. i just love your random posts .. i know you feel blessed to have such a close family ..

  33. Beth - great photos, and I'm sure Mom loved you all equally (or almost equally -well, sometimes one better than the other...) Oh - forget I said that. Independent ones are the hardest but often are so greatly loved. In the end... I'll stop now and just say that I loved all the shots - EQUALLY! Honest.

  34. I love it!!! I smiled through this whole post...

although I think you DO have a hoodie as well...I dont believe it is the same kind of hoodie but thats okay...why????

because I LOVE the way your mom is holding you...

    LOL

  35. no, those hoodies were definitely not matching.... not trying to stir anything up.... just sayin'

but I think your mom does love you best.... that is why she got you the "special" hoodie :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Silly girl! Of course your mom loved you best, that's why she let you be different than the rest with a different sweat shirt. Oh and the nature pictures are nice too.

  37. You are such a sweet daughter and I know your mother must adore you, regardless of the status or color of your hoodie, whether it has strings or not, etc.

Such wonderful photos. It is great that you have both parents and that they had this remarkable time with their daughters.
