on the balance beam of life...

i don't think it's the wrong side of the bed. maybe more like the right side of funk.
lucky for me. my funks only last a few hours.
thank god for zinc lozenges. they cure everything in my book.
~
i thought by now based on last year's photos i'd be dancing in the streets. but no.
instead i'm inside cursing the cold and the fact that spring isn't strong enough to show up.
oh it kind of made a shy appearance a week or so ago. but it caved. and left.
what a chicken.
~
i woke up with my neck all twisty. i think that's what happens
when you mix stress with anger bits
and
then rim the top of the glass with silence instead of sugar.
at least i didn't wash it down with a temper tantrum chaser.
sometimes i do know when to stop.
~
i don't have any new photos to share which is making this camera addicted girl a bit edgy.
tell me i'm not alone when it comes to this.
tell me if you lived close you'd come over and talk me off the ledge.
~
i watched american idol last night. was it just me or did anyone else think
casey might vomit right there on stage.
i want to cut his hair and shave his beard off
with the ability to put it all back on if i like it better the old way.
~
i guess my whining worked. the sun just came out and poked me in the eye.
but
if he plays the "come and find me i'm behind a cloud now" game with me.
i'm gonna break his legs. and yes he does have legs.
haven't you seen that commercial
for the jimmy dean sausage biscuits where the whole solar system gets off balance
when they don't eat breakfast.
*
happy weekend
*
the photo is leftover from florida vacation
it makes me happy

  2. Oh, so that's the diagnosis for what I've been feeling. Or maybe it's even in the middle of funk. lol That's a good photo to ingest as an antidote. ~hugs~

  3. If spring should show up here, I'll whisper in her ear to come visit you, too ... so far, she's being quite shy.

  4. I hope your sunshine stays for you. I thought Casey was going to pass out.. a couple of times.

  5. This photo makes me happy too. And right now, here, the sun is behaving in a most satisfactory fashion so my heart is happy. I may have found a writing group. I'm meeting a friend to see a film called "I Am" later. And my kitchen looks better than it did an hour ago. It's a good day!

  6. He, he, he, I can definitely relate to this post. By the way I thought Casey was going to vomit on Idol last night too. It was a strange show.

  7. First, I really needed to see a Florida scene, I thank you for this lovely image.
Second, your mini - rant about the lack of sun and spring sure hit home with me and made me LOL, which I also needed!
And, I have been enjoying Idol this season, I think because of the judges, but it was a worry with Casey, he turned white! Ryan seemed to be very concerned.
Okay, thanks for letting me chime in ... hang in there, feel better.

  8. Ha Ha Ha....OH MY WORD! I AM IN THIS FUNK with YOU! I promise...every bit of it could be my words and thoughts.
Still no sun to speak of here- no- not even a poke in the eye. Just a very white world.
I am keeping your post here open on my screen to read and re-read. It is the only thing that made me smile today.
    :)

  9. We'd be standing on the ledge together...so who would talk US off of it? Or should we jump anyway... into......?.....

  10. Yup, I'm funking all around! Tomorrow, we have to drive home to a winter wonderland....again. Our snow level in our yard is back to the same level as January...geez. Being in Southern WI for a couple days is my spring break!

  11. I was gonna say, you sound a bit like Dawn from Puzzle Pieces these days... A little white whine with your cheese please!

(I'm just yanking your chain since I'm sitting here in shorts trying not to break a sweat since is 81 degrees outside already!)

  12. If we didn't have our funks, we wouldn't appreciate our nonfunks, right? This photo makes me happy, too!

  13. See - it's not so bad, Beth. I thought the sand in the photo was snow!

  14. Thank you for the beach photo first of all...
    sigh.

and hope your weekend is less of a funk.

and you know, I was thinking, I wish I had photos of me pregnant and /or nursing. that is beautiful nudity for some reason to me, more than the other stuff.

  15. oh beth. i'd sit on that ledge with you & karen and we'd up dangling our feet and singing out songs cause we'd bitch & then start giggling & bitch some more & eventually we'd crawl our ways back to solid ground. but we'd know there was a place to sit where our feet could hang out into the clear blue and almost touch some clouds and we'd remember it wasn't so bad after all, and we might even call each other up & say let's do it again. i am with ya, even when i am away for so long. xoxo

  16. you make me smile, always. and of course you know i would talk you off that ledge, or talk that ledge into moving aside so the sun could make its way to poke you in the eye.
i love this photo. love it.
but you are not alone. on the one nice day we had i went out and took 300 some pictures and i am still making my way through those.
last year my husband went golfing on March 15. this year, it could be May. but we will get there.

  18. I am totally a Zicam believer! At the first tickle of the throat, I'm sucking on those mothers!

Oh, you'd be seriously flippin' out at some of the photos I took today, so I promise I won't post them til at least Sunday. ;-)

  19. And we do like happy photos no matter how old they are. I thought Casey was going to pass out for sure. It would be nice to see what he could look like all cleaned up. I do like his singing. I guess I had better start voting.

As far as cold starting up, I do swear by AirBourne and Zicam.

  20. The good news-I live in Florida.
The bad news-my computer is acting wonky so I can't post pictures!! I love the one you shared!

I don't watch that show, but did catch a glimps tonight - he sure was surprised to say the least!!

    Feel better!

  23. While I am not a cranky nor moody person generally, I SO feel you here, beth...and the migraines! I am afraid that I can not help you off the ledge. But I am joining you there... Hmmmm. Probably not good. But real all the same.

  24. The only things I've photographed lately are products for my etsy shop - indoors, because it's still annoyingly cold here. Yeah, we had like a whole 1 day of spring last weekend, and then it threatened to snow.

People at my job are always talking about the weather and when it's gonna do this or that. I never listen to a weather report, so what do I know? Be normal or surprise me, you know... I guess I just don't plan for weather.

Hopefully it warms up for you (and the rest of us too)! And then everything will be happier.
    : )

  25. LOL! Love the photo but mostly the mental image you created by the sun 'poking' you in the eye. It does seem the sun is enjoying the cruel joke this spring. Hugs sweetie....it'll soon be warm.

  26. you need to come back to florida...

  27. Hugs sweetie, I know you are already better, which is good, but I still wanna give you a hug.
And yeah, I thought Casey was gonna vomit all over the judges too. lol He needs a physical makeover I think but I do like his voice.

  29. This is the real spring fever time - when it looks like it should be spring because it is kind of sunny most of the time, and a lot of the snow is melted and the calendar actually says it is spring, but when you go out, the cold wind and low temps. stick it to you.
But it is coming. Everyone is entitled to a funk and if yours lasts a few hours, then you are in a mini-funk which I know you will be out of soo - as soon as you see something beautiful, which is easy to find round your way, inspite of the cold.
    It is coming, lovely One.
Have a yummy weekend, fellow Casey Fan/Makeover Coach.

Oh, I have these, too. I hate that about myself - but there it is. I guess we're all in that boat from time to time. Whenever I feel that way, like you, I try to avoid the tantrum. Then when I'm just a bit better, I begin to count my blessings. Works every time. Feel better, friend.

  31. I'm having that crazy winter-into-spring funk, too -- being so mad it's just too cold to be outside. To hold a camera, for that matter. I can cope with it in winter; not in spring. And it is spring, though you could never tell it by the thermometer!

Sending wishes for sun, photoshooting weather and no bad neck. Insult to injury. Or is it injury to insult?

  32. i adore the way you share your moods and minutia... i always seem to feel okay when I finish reading or viewing what's been happening in beth's beautiful world ~ your photos are always so beautiful and the words so full of the everything else that is so relatable ~ helps me be okay with the crazy flow that life is ♥

ps - i'm having the opposite issue of too many photos i want to share and no words making sense
