when things change...

the air is warmer. the sky on tuesday was a new shade of blue grey that i want to name like a paint color in the hardware store.
maybe i'll call it ~just a tease~ and paint my studio with it.
~
his laundry is done. it's been months since the tiny room off the kitchen that makes the most noise has smelled like him. but when he asked me so sweetly in his "where did my teenager go" deep voice if i could help him out after he worked a 12 hour day. i caved.
~
the fog is thick today. enough to close some of the country schools. i think i better plan on the hubby picking up take-out tonight on his way home.
obviously it's too dangerous for me to go to the grocery store.
*
happy thursday. do you have a paint color name for your day. tell me what it is.

  6. Yes, it is "February I will love you even if it kills me."
Your sky is much prettier than mine today, still grey here, but I can smell those little hints of spring, yes i can.

  8. Rise to the Occasion White. And I just finished loading up my art bin for the encaustic workshop tomorrow through Sunday with scratching tools, a heat gun, bits of paper, transfer images, little metal bits, some oil paint, cheesecloth -- a bit of this and that, in other words. Now, which apron should I bring? I'm not bringing my painting one, because I'm tired of looking like a fingerpainting by a 4 year old. So it'll either be the serviceable one I got in a cooking class that hasn't been used since or the ruffly number I found at Pier One last week. . . and I'm leaning toward ruffles.

  10. Our day today here in Michigan is what's-the-weather-going-to-do-next grey. But it's warm out so I can't complain. :o)

  11. slanted light.

    coming through the window
and hinting of spring on an
    unseasonably mild day

  12. What color is tired? What color is frustrated? Outside in my Michigan spot it is gray but very warm (for February). I can see the grass in my yard; might even be able to climb over the snow-blow drift to pick fresh thyme. But all my PBS work is getting me down today (gray? black? cobalt blue?) and I'm just tired -- too many hours fretting at night (midnight blue?)

Who knows. I love the color blue in your sky photo -- wish it was my color today.

  17. I have never heard of fog thick enough to close schools for! It must be exciting really! Today I would have to call my color "Snowmelt" it is in the 50's here in RI! Still plenty of snow on the ground though....so snowmelt is a dirty, greyish, brownish white:)

  18. Mmmmm . . . love the gorgoeous color and the name you picked!

It's dark here now, but I would say, when the morning sun comes through the beveled glass, it would be called Irridescent pastel prism.

  19. what a beautiful photograph. it has such a softness to it. it's been really warm here these last two days. makes me long for spring/ summer to break free. oh, almost forgot... i think it's sweet you helped do his laundry after a 12hr shift, ") hope all is well. have a great night.

  20. Beautiful photograph. I love it, and I love your name for the day. Don't you just love how no day is ever exactly the same.

the color I'd need at this exact moment would be called "shadow night" but I don't have a photo I can show you. I wish that I did because it's a great color of grays and golds that meld together, then lead away and drift off into darkness and dreams.

  23. Love your paint color and I do hope you had take-out. I wouldn't want you to endanger yourself.

My color is called happy, because I am caught up with bookkeeping and my taxes have been turned into the accountant. The two least favorite things to do, now I can play!
