i wonder if he knows anything about
picking a word for the year
if he does
i just have to believe
his is
"soar"
shooting him
was a self imposed challenge
it wasn't easy
as i had no idea at anytime
which way a wave would take him
so of course
there were plenty of blurry shots
but
there were also plenty in focus
that kind of took my breath away
did he know i was watching him
along with all the other beach dwellers
of course
~
he was quite a ham
~
but
if i could do what he does, i'd be a ham, too
*
He seemed to have quite a bit of fun...and you got to have some too. Awesome photographs :-)
ReplyDeletewow! (i love the color of the water!) and if i could do this, i would be the biggest ham ever.

Oh amen! I'd show off to anyone willing to watch! :)
ReplyDeleteSoaring in my mind and heart is enough flying experience for me thank you. Although this does look like fun, for other more adventurous people with very strong hearts. Ha.
ReplyDeleteThe one where he is in the wave is really gorgeous! The color, the way he is bent....now that is a photo!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the leaning into the wave shot - that's crazy awesome. I bet he'd love a copy. WOW.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! What a way to spend a day.

Beth:
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that I come by and sit in your space when I have time to 'savor' your images and words.
So your word for the year ahead is perfect...just perfect.
I had a client other day who commented on your photo that hangs in my treatment room. It made me send some vibes your way.
Happy New Year my friend...happy year....happy
Great captures. Wow he is soaring. That shot of him leaning into the wave is amazing - I stared and stared.
ReplyDeleteWas this a client or were you just shooting a stranger?
he's just a stranger.....i WISH he'd been a client....what a dream that would be :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa...I am just sitting here smiling. He looks like someone that takes life by the balls! I love it! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Great photos... shall I say, refreshing as well? ;o) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI think the shot of him in the wave is awesome too. Even if you can't do what he does, you have some amazing talent yourself. That looks like great fun though!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots! That looks so fun! And cold.
ReplyDeleteAnd so would I:))))
ReplyDeleteThose are some awesome shots!!!! Makes me want to soar.....
Your shot of him "in the curl" is nothing short of FANTASTIC! This guy needs to find you and buy prints of all your shots. Incredible!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots - and Soar is a great word for the year! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletegosh his arms must be strong and if i could ham it like he is i sure would fantastic shots Beth
ReplyDeleteI love challenges like this one. How I wish I could soar with him. Great shots! Love each and everyone of them. This would be my kind of fun if my body were only a few years younger.
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I thought it might be your husband. Ha!
Wow -- there is part of me that would love to do that. There is part of me that says, "Have a great time!" But I know YOU were having a great time! You can tell in all the great shots!
ReplyDeleteWow. That is awesome. That guy really knows how to live.
ReplyDeleteI'll say, but you can't blame him for being a ham!
ReplyDeleteAnd you did a great job with these, love the action.
It looks so cold out there! All I can think of is his ears must be freezing! Great action shots, Beth.

These are absolutely stunning! Wow. Great job. OH yeah. And, my word for 2011?? Explore. :P
ReplyDeleteHow amazing to be able to do that, and how fortunate for you to capture the feeling, the exhilaration, the frigid water, the movement of air, the pounding of surf.
