she's been so sick. vomiting and diarrhea. i didn't know what to do.
so
when my most favorite vet in the world who i truly believes loves her as much as i do
told me i should bring her in.
i did.
~
they ran tests. lots of them.
and
she's healthy except for a virus.
so they gave her a shot for the vomiting. a shot for the diarrhea.
and
filled her up with fluids to replenish what she had lost.
~
they call it camel back. or at least that's what i think the technician said. the fluid was like two huge sacks that you could feel on her back. under her skin. kind of gross to tell you the truth.
~
so for the last 24 hours i have had two very sad looking eyes staring at me. pleading with me to make her feel better.
~
until now
~
now
she sleeps
*
Your a good mama...I am glad she is sleeping. Beautiful she is.
ReplyDeleteOh poor baby!!! She looks miserable! At least she's sleeping! I hope she gets better...
ReplyDeleteAh! I hope she is feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteawwww...it is always so hard when they give you the puppy dog eyes and they can't ell you what's wrong. glad that she is on the mend...you probably need some sleep now too!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I hope she feels all better SOON!!! They are so much a part of the family, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteAaaah bless, hope she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sad, poor thing.
ReplyDeleteBless her little baby heart. I'm so glad you were able to find relief for her. She'll probably rest for a while to recuperate.
ReplyDeleteWe sure love our 4-legged children, don't we.

I hope she is cured by morning. That had to be very scary. Sending love to her!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad she is sleeping now. She will feel better soon. My cat Joey had to have some fluids when he was sick, it really helped alot. They are like our children and we feel so bad for them when they are sick. I hope she is feeling better very soon. Sending her hugs.
ReplyDeletehope she is soon well and active again ...
ReplyDeletePoor baby! Hope she's on the mend quickly.
ReplyDeleteIf only in times of emergencies they could speak just briefly, so they would suffer less. They do always seem to know we are trying to help...
ReplyDeleteHope you both rest easy tonight.

hope she gets better soon
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, poor baby. It's hard to see your pet feeling under-the-weather. Sleep baby, sleep!
ReplyDeleteAwww poor sweetie. I hope she's on the mend before too long.
ReplyDeleteSorry that this has happened and I hope she feels much better soon. I had my dog Molly for almost 18 years before she got sick and I had to put her down and she was just like one of my children...today I start that journey all over again as our family welcomed a dog into our family...very happy but once again I can tell he is going to have me wrapped around his paws. Blessings. XX
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh. Atlas had fluid injected in him one time when he was sick. I could not stop squishing it - it was so cold and wet and strange. When they told me that they were going to inject him with fluids, I guess I didn't really know what they meant.
ReplyDeletePoor dear puppy. I hope she feels much better soon!
Pets fill a speciial place in our hearts. Hope yours makes a full and swift recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh my, these dear fur ones...how they pull our heartstrings.

ReplyDeleteI wish your sweet dog get well soon. My dog is in the same condition but, for different reason and now we are waiting to see him better. So, I understand how you feel. Take care.
ReplyDeletesending prayers of peace and comfort and healing her way. It is so heartbreaking watching those saddened eyes, but I am thankful that she has you to speak for her...and to help her get well!! :) You're a good woman. Enjoy the day and maybe crawl under that blanket and snuggle with her...it will calm any uncertainties even for a few moments...believe me. :) ><>
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie, so sorry she is sick. I hope you post a pic when she is back to normal and full of spunk.
ReplyDeleteAwe, so sorry. Nothing worse than when the critters are sick. Our poor little Gilligan gets those fluids every single day believe it or not. Hugs to you and Sophie.
ReplyDeleteAwwww poor puppy! It's even sadder when a pet is sick because they can't tell you where they hurt or what will make them feel better. Glad she's sleeping now though! <3
ReplyDeleteDoggie, I hope you are feeling better now. Do let us know when you are up again, happily barking and wagging your tail. You have a nice Mummy.
ReplyDeleteHow tough for both of you.
ReplyDeletepoor pup...our Ellie (poodle) was quite ill in early October, it was rough, but she is fine as a...poodle...now. Sending healing thoughts.

oh beth, i haven't been here for a few days and will start here. poor sophie and poor you. it's so so so hard to not know what to do and thank god for vets who do. i am so glad she's doing better (i peeked and read the update in your next post.) and i know that fluid well - it's what we gave maggie every day - 10mm, under her skin. your poor sophie must have been so sick to need 2 bags. i want to just rub her little head and sing her a made-up song real softly. you do that for me, okay?
ReplyDeletethank goodness, thank goodness she is better.
