i'm still alive....

even though a texas sized migraine tried to take me down
yesterday
~
so today i walk on eggshells
knowing that a rebound migraine is waiting in the wings
for me to become a victim
again
~
is your shopping done. how about your baking. and your wrapping and ribboning.
have you sung any carols yet. baked a pie. made a snow angel. are all the lights on your tree lit. stockings hung.
~
not me
not yet
oh well

  1. Migraines.. those nasty intruders. I hope you're feeling tip-top again soon and that the only thing on the rebound is your energy.

  2. Oh, been there and done that. Inhaled Imitrex does give some relief, if you've never had the prescription, ask Dr. for it.

  4. Beth, You and I seem to be symbiotic. Yesterday I had a killer migraine. Today I wait for the mild pain to try to overcome me. I have not baked..not sent a single card...not wrapped one thing....not finished shopping all the way...still have 3 teaching days this week, where I feel overwhelmed as well. Oh well.

  6. Christmas comes in the heart ... not in the oven. And your heart seems to carry Christmas all the year 'round.

  9. I don´t think I have mentioned this before just how much I like your title photograph, it takes my breath away every time. My partner sometimes suffers from migraine too and we´ve found gently massaging and stimulating the blood vessels on the side of the neck can help.

busy with giving things to Goodwill, sorting out for the end of Feb move....pensive, reminiscing.

I've barely had a headache in my entire 66 years...good thing, with all my other calamities. I feel for you, though, and hope another doesn't return!!!

  13. Beth, I followed a trail of blogs that brought me to you. My name is Beth, too. Your blog delights me. And that makes me happy. I have migraines, as well. Big bad ones that are sometimes Texas-sized. I have one today, and, so, I, too, have a list of things that are not yet done for Christmas. And it's okay. I like the comment that said "Christmas comes in the heart, not the oven."

  14. First of all, take care of yourself. I hope that nasty migraine goes away and stays away. Not done, no I don't have paper to wrap gifts. Off to the store to find a good sale.

  16. Oh, you poor thing. I had a migraine once in my life and it was the worst pain ever because it's your head. I hope you're on the mend.
I bought a small artificial tree today and I cannot believe the satisfaction that has come from it. It took only about a half hour to decorate and it's made me smile from ear to ear.

Just little things for the stockings to get and some gifts are still on the way (last minute online deals) but am hoping to pick up a few fun things in NYC when I go on Tuesday morning. I am so psyched! And will see my son and stay at his place. Cannot. Wait.

I'm pretty much there with all the christmas bits, just some last minute grocery shopping to do and I'm all set.

  30. So sorry you have been sidelined. If it makes you feel better, none of my stuff is done yet -- vacation, then returning to work at a busy time has me far behind the eight ball. It'll happen.

Looking down all your posts -- one comment on this one for now as I catch up. Merry Ho Ho.
