is it just me....

or
do all of you feel that this time of year is just crazy. crazy busy. and why is that. i knew months ago that november and december would show up. i knew the stores would become crazy with people who would make any kind of christmas shopping or parking ridiculous.
~
i also knew that the frozen broccoli florets i need for thanksgiving would be gone from my grocer's freezer right now, because they were last year at this same time. sure i could have grabbed a couple bags of them in june. after all, they are frozen for a reason. and don't even get me started on how many stores i went to last year for canned pumpkin.
~
if you think this is bad and full of my whiney voice....hmmmm.....wait until december. actually wait until it snows, which could be next week.
~
in case you're new to my blog, ummmm, when i see snow outside my window, you can lower your head and put your ear close to your computer screen and actually hear me whining. you think i'm kidding don't you.

  7. Normally I'm not to fussed by all the craziness that surrounds thanksgiving because I just hole myself away until it all subsides. Trouble is this year we have people coming for dinner so I guess I better start thinking about getting stuff organized.

  8. Oh, and all along I thought that was ME whining when the snow came. I've seen some flakes, had a little coverage already but it has always melted (so far). Any day now, here too, it will be white and be white until sometime in March (if we're lucky) or April (more likely). I hear 'ya sista. And if I'm not out of the stores by December 10 for Christmas shopping, everyone is getting toilet paper and toothpaste for Christmas.

  9. I'm with you. I am considering trying to do ALL of my Christmas shopping online, and I HATE cold, winter, and snow. Yeah, sure, it's kinda pretty on Christmas, and kinda pretty when it glitters occasionally (IF there is ever sun) but if I could never experience another snowstorm or icy road ever again, I'd be happy. Boy, it feels good to vent, but I feel like such a party pooper...

  10. It's just the time for complaints and you are no different than the rest of us. We know that things will be in short supply but there is so much left to do and enjoy in these final nice days of autumn and all seems to pile up as the holidays draw close. I've been plagued with ill health and hospital stays and doctors visits...who the heck has time for that but I think the Almighty is reminding me that I am, after all, mortal and He calls the shots!

  11. We were planning on a road trip to Utah for Thanksgiving, but there's too much snow between here and there, so now we're flying to Alaska. The family up there has asked us to bring fresh vegetables. Hopefully there will be some available in the stores.

  12. Beth - You never listen to me. Just for that, I am going to send you some white stuff! (Oh, don't worry - I'm actually keeping it all for myself...)

  13. Oh, that's funny. Yeah, pick em up in June next time, that will work.
I'm sure the first time your yard is covered in a beautiful dusting of white picturesque snow, the whining will stop. Until the first blizard.

  14. Haha, even when you whine you make me smile. Actually, (don't hit me) I am looking forward to the snow, I don't like this in between time that is all grey and rainy, if it has to be cold I would rather have snow. Sorry...
These months always sneak up on us, always too much to do, yet don't we love those holidays just the same?

  15. My boyfriend just pointed out that your URL is a double entendre...it not only refers to "more doors" but sounds like "Mordor" from Lords of the Rings...

I had to explain to him that this blog has nothing to do with that. :)

  16. Argh! Not that time! I whine too, but for a different reason. It's not the S-N-O-W word, but the S-H-O-P word that makes me tear my hair out, as it is claimed in these parts that the world shifts because of the traffic snarls (in and out of the cars) from Black Friday through Christmas week. I will happily take your snow!

  23. It was raining this morning and then all of a sudden it looked like someone was scrapping styrofoam up there. ICKY Ick ICK!!!!!

Hmmm, guess I will try and replace my whine with some wine and enjoy hibernation...oh, and talk the rest of my family into skipping most of the whole holiday hooha this year and just BE together.
Wish me luck, Lovely Whino !;)

  25. I feel the same way about cloudy days and rain! Though, there are times when I strangely delight in the dreary, dismal weather.

  26. i was just wishing i'd bought a couple months worth of paper towels and all those other essential non-perishables so i could avoid the crowds that are already out there. :) and i don't have to worry about snow.

  27. I hope you find what you need for your Thanksgiving meal. Is there fresh broccoli in the product section? Enjoy the snow and don't whine to much. Go out and make angels.

  28. The holidays . . . is it what you were anticipating? Is it happening this way because we expect it to and have put it into the universe? I wonder that sometimes when things go crazy and we think to oursleves . . . well I'm not surprised.

  29. I had my bad whiny voice on to. Much better now, though. Days off will do that for me.
