have you ever noticed
that the beach calls your name with a familiar voice
and
embraces you with a hug that feels like a long lost friend
when you finally arrive
have you ever noticed
that the beach never makes you feel lonely
even if you're all alone
have you ever noticed
that the beach makes you more playful and smiley
and
that after a day of even just walking in the sand
your cheeks are pinker
with a color that can't be bought
have you ever noticed
that the beach is as alive as you are
have you ever noticed
that the beach makes you a bit weepie
when you have to say
good-bye

Yes, I have noticed that!! Such beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteI don't know where this is but I want to be there right now!!
Hugs
SueAnn
it doesn't look like the setting from The Goonies from here...
ReplyDeleteBut yes, I know what you are saying about the beach. Perhaps we are all longing to return to the ocean...
I love the beach, always invigorates my soul... especially big ocean beaches like this one.... love this series of photos!... I still say Oregon Coast
ReplyDeleteSuch soft and wistful photos here. It's the constancy of the waves rolling to the shore and the fact that they've been rolling to the same shore since the beginning of time.
ReplyDeleteHaving spent about 1 hour total beach time in my life, this beach is completely unrecognizable to me so I can't even hazard a guess. I'm glad you had fun though!
ReplyDeleteDi
my second guess is Cannon Beach, Oregon. I have been here in Florida for 6 weeks, and am beginning to feel weepy as I must return to Texas next week. I know the feeling. I belong here.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, makes me wish I was at the beach! Mission accomplished!
ReplyDelete: )
I have too. Beach, I love you....
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured, Gorgeous One !
I thought I was the only one who cries when they leave on the last day...I should have known better. The beach is too wonderful a place and there are so many wonderful souls who respond to it.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've captured the images...but more how you captured our feelings in your sparse words.
Genius, my dear!
such comfort here today beth .thank you for sharing . yes on all
ReplyDeleteI soooo miss my annual summer visits to the beach. I agree about how you don't feel lonely even when you're the only one on the beach---the ocean does that to you. And yes, I got weepie when I had to leave.
ReplyDeleteYou captured all the feelings beautifully.
I've been to the beach ONCE in my 39 years and i was instantly hooked...i long for the next time i go...this are beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely! Even when it's grey and rainy, it's impossible to have a bad day at the beach. And if you're lucky enough to watch a storm in the winter, it's like that feeling you get during a thunderstorm ... only like, 100 times cooler!
ReplyDeleteP.S. That looks an awful lot like my Washington Coastline. :)
I continue to like the way you speak of being alone but not being lonely. It looks so peaceful where you were. Glad you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteYes on all counts, especially the weepy when leaving one. I hate leaving the beach.
ReplyDeleteAnd..I would say those photos were taken on one of the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior.
Oh, yes! I have indeed noticed all of that about the beach. And I adore it. (But you knew that, didn't you!)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful time, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMagical!! What a beautiful picture you paint of the beach.
ReplyDeleteWe have a wonderful beach that I pass almost daily - Ocean Beach - not really safe for swimming, quite dangerous, even, to just walk in as it has very bad rip tides and currents but the sands are wonderful for walking and surfers in wet suits will still take their chances. The water temperature remains about 55 degrees which, thankfully, deters most people.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, and yes, I have noticed :) And your photos are doing much the same right now... always exquisite... still thinking Mackinack with that bike especially :)
ReplyDelete:) i know i know
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to an ocean beach in a jillion years, but I was with you in these pictures. and in love with that water and that sky and that dog. :) wonderful.

ReplyDeleteBest regards,

I got to spend three days at Gearhart this summer, about 6 miles from Cannon Beach. Heaven. Nothin' but heaven on Earth.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is that "the beach is as alive as you are". :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is exactly how I feel when I visit my favourite beach...a four hour drive from here. Exactly.
