mable....

it's friday
and
the sun is shining
~
my son has been sick with what we thought was just his asthma
but
based on how scratchy my throat is
i'm wondering if he doesn't also have a cold on top of his asthma and allergies
and
maybe coughed up a few germs on my strawberry shortcake
~
there's a shop around the corner
who honors the talents of artists
and
i've been asked to frame some of my photography
in a large format
to be sold there
~yikes~
so this afternoon
i'm off to the camera shop to have some of my photos
printed
big
as in
11x14
big
~wish me luck~
~
but
the main thing on my to do list
is laundry
so
i'm going to roll out my old clunker above
~i call her mable~
and
get her hose all hooked up
so
i can wash the bed sheets and then get them on the line to dry
~
hee hee
~
oh how i love fridays

my son has allergies all year round and sometimes we cant tell when its allergies or a cold. Usually by the time we do realize its a cold...its too late and we all get to share the wonderful bounty of germs.

  6. I am sure your photos will be very well received, how wonderful!

I am having the same allergy issues lately...they are really bad this year, I think it is because it got so warm so fast...

And as for Mable, I'm pretty sure she used to live in my grandmother's kitchen, will you ask her for me?

  10. Wow, that IS exciting! How will you choose which to use? You'll have to share with us the finished product. Do you have any vintage cameras that go along with the age of your washing machine?

  11. I think Mable has earned her right to just sit and look beautiful in the corner while the hard work gets done by a nice quiet energy-saver (your energy !) front loader...I'm just saying.;)
Hope the boy and you get away with a minumum of itchy scratchy ick. Fantastic about the photos - what a treat !

And Mable's 'cousin' and I had a tangle one time...
I was maybe 4 or 5 when she tried to wring my arm like a sopping towel. Luckily grandma was there to back her up and spit me out!

  23. Your pictures will look amazing that big...I think they would look great if they were printed on canvas too, instead of photo paper. Good luck with Mabel!

  24. How wonderful to have your art recognized and to actually make some bucks in the process!

Seeing Mabel reminded me of my grandparents' "Mabel". She used to dance across the basement floor while she did their laundry!

I enjoyed feeding the clothes into the wringer -- those were the days!

  38. Hey Beth - if you have a Costco nearby, check with them to see if they'll print your photos on 16 x 20 board. They printed some wonderful images for me for my show in December and I think the cost was about $16 per image, maybe a little more. You need a tiny bit more depth on the frame, but they look spectacular. If your local Costco does them, they can usually have them in a matter of hours.
