everyone picked a word and ran into the new year
with their capes flying in the wind behind them
~~
I thought my cape would fly
too
but
it's hanging down my back
waiting patiently
~~
I think february will be the start of my new year
or
maybe march
~~
who gave january all the power anyhow
*
my heart aches for the people of haiti
My cape is flying either?! LOL!!! But I have my "word"!!! Yes for those in Haiti I have been praying. They have so much to recover from. So sad!!!

SueAnn
your cape is patiently waiting
ReplyDeletea good way of relieving pressure. the time to start is when its the right time for you!
ReplyDeleteexactly. why january? it should be any day you want it to be.
ReplyDeleteMy cape isn't flying either. It is tucked in beside me in my sweet winter coccoon, along with my word...(I will only "emerge" when it is time...). You smart girl, listening to the rhythm of you and doing things in sweet Beth Time. Perfect !
ReplyDeleteAching heart here too, and prayerful mind and spirit.
Love you !
Dearest Beth. You'll know when the time is right. Besides, you can tell yourself you're operating on a school's fiscal year. Your new year doesn't start until Sept. So see, you've got lots of time.
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hard on yourself! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour cape looks lovely just hanging there!
i love this image. i don't think my cape is even on yet. who gave January all the power is right! in our own time. . . .
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect photo to illustrate how your cape is "not." And, what a fabulous composition and silhouette!
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful!! I'd like to thing my cape is flowing.. at least I'm determined to make it that way. for now.
ReplyDeleteI believe April or May has all the power, that's when we emerge triumphant from a cold winter!!
Hugs.
My opinion... your New Year can be any day, week or month you want it to be. Mine actually may begin on Saturday after a trip to Whole Foods. And, I think it can happen more then once a year, too...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteIt seems Superman donned his cape when the need arose ... not on a predetermined schedule ... my heart aches as well ...
ReplyDeleteMe, too...
ReplyDeleteI think I will start in February with you... January has been weird. I am SOOO tired!
ReplyDeletemy heart is aching as well...and your year starts WHENEVER YOU want it to start! Have a wonderfully "warm" weekend! Lots of dripping and melting and dreariness isn't there?
ReplyDeleteWhy the rush? Let it all unfold in time. I too pray for those in Haiti. Be well :)
ReplyDeleteNot everyone needs a word to define their possiblilites or growth. But, I predict that your word will comme to you when you're not even thinking about it. Yep, it will come riding in from the wild blue yonder, bonk you on the head and take you hostage, just like that. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy heart also goes out to those in Haiti. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
Beth, you must have bought your cape at the same store as me, I think they are faulty y'know! Lighting a candle for Haiti. ((hugs))
ReplyDeletetake your time...have a peaceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Carolyn - a fabulous composition and silhouette!
ReplyDeletejanuary! huh! no power! you just keep that cape near by.
ReplyDeletexoxo
i am so glad i am not the only one!
ReplyDeletecan i stand beside you and wait... at least i will have great company.

Thoughts-prayers & action for Haiti as well!

today we gave to the red cross. as helpless as those poor haitians are right now, we are not. everyone can do a little to help. so sad.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think January might be too soon for big change.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, the whole thing in Haiti is so sad. So heartbreaking.
I popped in from cinner's blog and am so glad I did....these words are fantastic......and your right who gave January all the power...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day......:-) Hugs
I hate the pressure of a January 1st deadline for resolutions...
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on in Haiti is heartbreaking...I have sent donations but it doesn't feel like enough...
Yes, Haiti has my heart too today.
ReplyDeleteThe JOY I chose to start the year with is so hard to hold onto. I always seem to be tested when I chose a word. I am thinking I need to have more boldness in my Joy.
Hi Beth -- Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Your photos are terrific! I hope you get some mittens!
ReplyDeleteBethm you can do it when ever you want, it will come....my cape is somewhere in that room that I was going to clean. ask me how much I did, none, I sat and looked at it though. Very sad about Haiti, prayers are sent, It really breaks my heart.
ReplyDelete"Who gave January all the power anyhow?" GENIUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteFebruary is the Tibetan New Year so you can celebrate then ;) Prayers for the people of Haiti.
ReplyDeleteI love this photo. Soon enough, your cape will lift you into the air like wide wings....
ReplyDeletein my opinion, a new year can begin any day, any moment. not entirely sure my cape is flying either.
ReplyDeletei love the silhouette and flowing water.
beautifully said!
ReplyDeletethea.

Oh sweetie let me shine a little of my heart light on to your heart. And may all these nasty cold months swift by soon for you. Hope you catch my warm beams.
ReplyDeleteHugs Hugs Hugs Dagmar
I thought I had a word. Actually, I chose one, and another chose me...and well, now, neither is sticking. I think there was too much pressure to have a word...so I am being a non conformist. No word.
ReplyDeleteNo. Wait.
Every word. Yes. Every word that fits for the time it needs.
