the past few days
we have been living in a winter wonderland
~~
waking every morning
to what they say is
frozen fog
and
then spending the entire day
looking outside
silenced by the beauty before us
unfortunately
the words
to describe my blindingly beautiful world right now
are failing me
but
if I could find any that fit perfectly
I think
you'd want to sprinkle them all over the floor
like rose petals
and
dance
in them
*
That is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous pictures with us this morning ... it brought me a little sense of calm.

ReplyDeleteone word..."AWE"...ok two..."hushed, awe".
ReplyDeleteI've been having a recurring dream of a gazebo set in a grove, surrounded by trees that look like this ... only now I know what they REALLY look like cuz in the dream, I'm inside the gazebo, in a bed pulled next to a fire, and gazing out through the glass windows of the gazebo frame though lacy frozen ice patterns ... geez, what an incredible landscape!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, Beth, it's just gorgeous!!! I've been manifesting snow here in NC for months now and even though I've been told we are supposed to have the coldest winter in 25 years, well, it's just not happening. I'm bringing in my 41st birthday this Sunday and I hope I look out the window to see the beauty that the Universe has so kindly dropped at your feet. Enjoy, my beautiful friend, nature has surely shined her snowy face on you.

ReplyDeleteWhile I wouldn't want to live in it, I am so overjoyed that you send these unbelievable pictures that so how splendidly beautiful snow and ice can be. It is so easy, indeed, to appreciate it from this perspective. The trees are so incredible!

They've all been done. I don't know how I'd describe it either, but I feel like I can climb right into those photos!
Beautiful photos, you're very good...these makes me want to take a deep breath of crisp fresh air.
ReplyDeleteThe title touched me, then the photos. I was married on a Saturday morning almost six years ago in a little plain white church in the woods. My husband sang I hope you dance to me at the end of the ceremony with verses he wrote and added. It was my gift from God on our special day. Snow is peaceful to me and your pictures just are peace.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a glorious landscape for photo ops! Just beautiful! I would certainly hang at least one of these close to me for long gazing and daydreaming... ahh, yes...when it's 98 and 100% humidity these will be mega refreshing views!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work!
I lived by a lake in northern BC growing up, and we'd get this beautiful frost occasionally, when the fog came up onto the lake. We called it hoarfrost, which I think is an old fashioned, old-english type term for it. Anyway you look at it, it's absolutely gorgeous. And your photos capture it perfectly--and we can enjoy it without having to go into the cold! Amazing job!

ReplyDeleteLOVE these... no frozen fog here unfortunately, making me want to drive to Madison just to participate in the frozen fog...would love to buy one of these beauties off you when I see you on Friday (?)
ReplyDeleteI moved from Northern Nevada and haven't seen this since living there. We called it pogonip (I think it's an Indian word) there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!

ReplyDeleteI wish our "winter wonderland" looked like that! It would make winter much more enjoyable. Instead we have dead, muddy brown. It's not a normal winter here in Montana!
ReplyDeleterhoda
