buried, but in a good way...

sorry
I haven't been here
playing
or
sharing in my
home away from home
but
I've been busy
surprising and shopping and eating and laughing and remembering
~~
my older sister from maine has been here
having flown in as a surprise for my little sister
who just turned
41
~~
there was cake and confetti and streamers and horn blowing and dancing
well
not really
~~
just cake
but
it was a really really good cake
~thanks to mom~
~~
so
today I am buried under the piles of laundry
that didn't get done
and
the bills that didn't get paid
and
the overall
everything
that got put on hold
while I was playing
but
that's okay
~~
because
we'll be talking about this week of love and surprises for years to come
and
all that laundry and those bills
well
they'll all be forgotten in a day

  1. the laundry will always be around and the bills come every month...savoring the moment is WAY more important. Glad you had a great visit!

    p.s. I always wanted Sisters :)

  2. Making memories is something that needs to be grabbed on to when the moment comes. Laundry and dishes? Phooey. They'll still be there when the memory making is over, and the taking care of those chores are made way more enjoyable having something so pleasant to think about as they're being done. It sounds like you had a marvelous time! And the photo is sweet, too. :)

  4. Much more memorable than what went into the washing machine or how many loads or whether the dishes were done by hand or by machine.

  16. How come no dancing ? No horns ? You sisters need to step out of the box a little and learn from me and my two. We always dance - preferably to the Beatles and we do a mean horn blowing now and then too ! ;)
Here's to living out loud - the laundry can wait !
    Love to you !

  22. sister~love is the best, isn't it, Beth? Now you've given me an ache to see mine sooner...

Phooey on all that fell behind. You are right, in the years to come, you will only remember the laughter and the love.

  25. ...with the recent loss of my sister and the past loss of my mother, this post really hit home...it may sound glib or trite but it truely isn't...laundry and bills are not what memories and ties are made of...everyone who not only knows this but lives by it is wise indeed...you are fortunate to be so "buried under":)

i gave you a kreative blogger award on my post today. you can pass it on to 7 others if you would like to. you just copy the award and then choose seven other people and write several unknown facts about yourself.
