I see, I feel, I hear

the shadows
danced perfectly in the woods yesterday
like they had spent hours in a front of mirror practicing for just the right moment
the sun
glistened off the dried blades of grass
like a warm layer of lotion trying to smooth out the wrinkles
the leaves
that had lost their ability to hang on weeks ago
danced under my feet even though I thought their music sounded sad

the glass covered lake
ignored the geese that were finding last minute landing spots
acting as if it were an inn that was closing up early for the winter

and
the walnuts
fell from the highest of trees
letting out little sighs on their way down
somehow knowing this was the end
for them

  2. So beautiful, this decay. It makes me sad too and yet glad that someone so wonderful stopped to capture its beauty in image and in word.

  13. I really like the one of the leaves on the ground, I like how you lost the focus in both the foreground and the background. Focusing remains to be my achilles heel, just can hardly ever get it right!

  15. The leaves picture with only the center leaves in focus is alluring, I am trying to picture in my head how you do that? Its different than just a bokeh shot... hmmm, so much to learn!!
