it's good to play so hard that you have a difficult time catching your breath
it's even better to do it with a friend
~~
and
at the end of the day
when your limbs are all noodle like
and
your glued on smile starts to fray a bit
it's really good to fall to the ground
while
the moon becomes your mirror
and
the dragonflies bathe you with soft gentle breezes as they flit by
whispering
tiny stories
in your ear
~~
and
your friend
oh
she's still there
basking in the moonlight
her clothing damp from the evening dew
while her fingers slow dance with their shadows

marvelous moon-dancing images, lovely beth ! I can't wait to meet my next dragonfly and really listen for the secrets...
ReplyDeleteThis describes how children play...lesson we can learn from watching them. Nice post.
ReplyDeletea beautiful, beautiful write. sounds like a perfect way to end the day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. It feels like childhood..revisited.
ReplyDeleteHonest to goodness Beth, I don't know how I lived fully before I found your blog and got these stirringly beautiful reminders to live in each moment, live well, live fully, and pay attention to the smallest joys of each day. Thank you for your images and your endearing words. I had a conversation via phone with my best friend in Ohio today and in spite of the distance and all of our life struggles, in our fondest dreams we would be those two in your "story" today. So our spirits will do so for our worn-out bodies who long to be together bathed in the moonlight with the dragonflies buzzing ... see the smiles on our faces?
ReplyDeletelove this beth, beautiful - your images and your words. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and picture, my friend. :)

Now that's my kind of friend. Lucky you. Lucky her.
