and maybe a little cotton candy...

my life at the moment is a wicked roller coaster ride
with lots of head whipping going on
and
if I were a weak person I'd be running as far away from it as possible
screaming at the top of my voice
looking for a place to hide
~~~~
but
that's not me and it never has been
as I tend to take on challenges like a boxer in a ring
so when it's all over I can wave my arms in the air
while bouncing from one foot to another
and
swaying to the sounds of
"we are the champions"
~~~~
the details of all this craziness are still a little sketchy
but soon I'll be able to share what's going on here in my very own
amusement park I like to call home
~~~~
so
for now I'm breathing deep
with my shoulders back
and
living by own motto of
"everything happens for a reason"
and
finding the perfect horse on the merry-go-round
to hang out on for awhile
~~~~
{this photo has nothing to do with this post, but I love it so much....the woods are covered in these plants right now... and I have no idea what they are, probably just an invasive weed, but I like to think that in what feels like a forest to me when I'm hiking, they're little fairy umbrellas...

  1. Beth, this was so nice to read especially this morning. I'm having a bit of family stuff going on and today needed a reminder to be strong. So today with potentially some bad stuff happening, I will carry my vision of being a champion. Thanks.

  2. Hey Champ:
    I can't do much in terms of being a ref or anything...but I can stand in your corner and root you on when you think you're down for the count...

    And, I could be wrong, but I believe that is a picture of a May Apple...not really a weed at all...

    The Wheels on the bus go round and round, Round and round, Round and round.....

  7. Beth, I love your mindset and your approach to your life roller coaster…
    And as another person commented, that lovely plant is a may apple.
    Keep enjoying the ride!

  11. Take care of yourself you prize fighter :-) Love all these photos of beautiful nature....makes me wonder, do you guys have Morel mushrooms growing on your property? I remember plants like this one (May flower??) from when I was a child and it seems we found mushrooms around them.

  13. May apple, indeed -- I'm sure it's a fairy umbrella. Keep your chin up, my dear, so you can see the body blows coming and avoid them. And remember, this too shall pass.

  14. well too bad you used a boxing analogy cuz as I was reading, I was thinking of the pom-poms I could make and a matching felt skirt and SADDLE SHOES (I always wanted a pair of those darned things) ... meanwhile, I'll join you on your forest walks and we'll pluck a few fairy umbrellas, paint them shiny carnival colors and plunk them in our daiquiris when we get back home.

  15. I have GOT to slow down -- I needed that costume I described [pompoms, skirt, saddle shoes] to CHEER YOU ON (woot! woot!) but gah, my brain is always 10 miles ahead of my typing fingers and then the phone rang and I hadta answer it and then I spilled my big a** cup of water ... you see how it is.

  23. Wish I was a fighter like you Beth.

    I am the one that would run and hide...not a strong person.

    Hope all is well and that at the end you can sing in glory.

  25. i'm glad someone thinks life is worth living to it's fullest, no matter what's thrown in our path along the way. it's pretty cool what you can find out about yourself when your eyes are wide open - even if what you're looking at isn't so pleasant. by the way, nice to meet you. bb

  28. Just keep your feet and hands inside the cart until the ride slows to a halt.

    Perspective works better that way.

    :) Big hugs!

    Thinking of you Beth and hoping the roller coaster slows down a bit to catch your breath.
