bare, simple and brave....

if you could
be
anything
just for a day
what would you be
?
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
surrounded by other pods who love me just the way I am
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
filled with a softness that nobody knows unless they break me open
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
keeping my thoughts focused on the important things in life
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
being completely in awe of the cloudless sky
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
standing tall and lean and showing only the best of my true colors
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
holding simplicity in the palm of my hand
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
asking for nothing but the right amount of space around me that I need for growth
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
feeling brave as the winds toss me around and make me question my own strength
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
seeing instead of judging
~
today
I would be a pod in the prairie
unafraid of the seasons changing
knowing that while I was here
I was beautiful

  1. Wow, beautiful post. Today, I'd be a shell on a white sandy beach, getting tickled by the tide and warmed by the sun.

Mmmmmm...made me feel better just thinking about it. So, thank you!

  4. Gorgeous thought-poetic flow ... I'm partial to pods, but I think if I could be anything for a day? what a tough choice, but I'd like to be an ocean wave, one that gets to come all the way in from WAY OUT THERE up to the shore, so I get the full tidal experience, get to taste all the currents ...

  6. This pod is so pretty perfectly shaped, like a Moroccan mosque.

  7. Lovely post.....

Today, I would be a bird so that I may feel the wind beneath my wings and the warmth upon my breast because I would fly somewhere sunny and warm!!

  8. Beautiful post Beth. I think to day I would be a cloud- a white, fluffy, cloud on a sunny slightly breezy day and just drift on through the day going where the wind blew me. Such a lovely thought!

  11. And it's always the right amount of space, once you can see a pod in the prairie.

  12. stunning photo.

this post reminds me of a watercolor painting i did of an iris growing on a very tall, erect stem.

i titled it "delicate trooper" because that is what my husband called me at the time.

    wonderful post.
