we have walked through
our prairie
only hearing
the
cicadas
with
a
thud
one landed on my bathrobe
and looked right at me
and looked right at me
as if to say
"what are you doing here?"
as I held
my breath
John coaxed it
off of me
and
onto his hand
so that I could
enjoy
its' amazing beauty
up close
~~~~~
almost always
our early morning walks
are
beautiful
but
sometimes
when a visitor takes you by surprise
an early morning walk
can be
really
spectacular
Hmmm, I have to admit the wings are gorgeous. I don't know bout those beady eyes though.
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteHe looks kind of buggie to me, but in a cute way. LOVE THE FIRST SHOT. HE came out great in his pictures.
Peace
Angie
Don't you just love their song?
ReplyDeleteI love all the random surprises life delivers when you just take time to amble.
We have had all kinds of multi-legged visitors of late...ask kim about charmaine...and last thursday I had a praying mantis on my office window which we immediately named PAM...I know original heh? Anyway, we think PAM was actually a male but that's beside the point. I work in a 23 story building downtown, one would not expect to find a praying mantis on that high up on a building and even downtown..wierd...see yuo in less than a week!!! -julie
ReplyDeletehey that is the cousin of the one we found in front of the liquor store on willy stret, lol..
