balanced...

today
is
grey and windy and quiet
~~
but
a sunny and fairly warm easter
was celebrated yesterday with my family
and
our house was filled with noises coming from children that made me smile
~~
our son's bedroom become a theatre room as everyone piled on top of his bed with the overflow filling bean bag chairs while "bedtime stories" was watched
on his craig's list find....a projector
~~
the picture above was found in a file almost 3 years old
while my sister and I looked at old family vacation photos
~~
my niece made easter cards in my studio
while my mom worked on her cross stitch
and
the men watched the masters
~~
all of this was done on bellies that were filled to capacity
yet we continued to find room for more cake and cookies
and
candy filled eggs
as the day went on
~~
I hope your easter
was filled with sweet memories
and
noises that made you smile

  5. Cool! I wish I could have come over and cross-stitched with your Mom! What is she working on? She should have a stitching and antiques blog! Glad you had such a good time!

  6. Your description sounds so very familiar... a peaceful, warm Easter spent surrounded by the ones we love.

Am so glad that you enjoyed your day.

PS-I ate a little candy this morning just so I didn't go into complete sugar withdrawals...

    :)

  7. Hi Beth~ It sounds like a lovely day! I love get-togethers like that- everyone doing their own thing and perfectly content with it. Ours was very similar at my in-laws; Masters on (lots of noises from there), little kids playing, SIL knitting, good conversation and the ability to drift in and out of everywhere.

  9. That photo is a keeper. Funny, I never think of birds as balance. But they can balance on a wire, and do.

My Easter was spent working in the shop - some of the time anyway! But I still enjoyed it. And I'm glad that you and your family had a good time too. Such creativity!
